  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

guys, just wondering does you alarm light start blinking as soon as you turn off your car? i have this red blinking light on top of the driver side front dash, and noticed that it blinks as soon as i turn off the car, only time its off is when i start the car. I thought the light would only blink when my car is locked.

My 2009 V8/Tech will blink the dash red LED when parked even if I don't lock the car. It's blinking in the garage right now...

Along with the alarm set function, this is the light sensor that turns on your headlights if you have the light switch in the “auto” position.
If you cover it the headlights will come on and stay on if the switch is in the “auto” position

Not sure that is true. There is a sensor on the RH side of the dashtop that looks exactly the same physically, but has no LED that detects light levels for the Auto Headlights & Nav. Display. Alarm indicator is on the LH side - at least in my Genesis it is.

In my owner’s manual page 4-76 the auto lighting control is on the left side of the dash. The sensor with the blinking red led. Easy way to tell, put the headlight switch to "auto" cover the sensor if the headlights go on that's the control sensor.

On page 4-88 the right sensor is for heating and cooling controls. I drive a 2011 Genesis.
