  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Analog Clock Resetting

Has anyone experienced the problem of the date and time failing to display at all? I can't find a way to manually (re)set date and time. I noticed the center screen on my 2015 Genesis displaying the wrong date and time earlier today, and then the screen stopped displaying any date or time entirely. The analog clock runs but is displaying an incorrect time. Wondering if this all likely requires a service call.
It gets the time from the gps. You can check settings screen but I don't think there is manual input.

Yes! This just happened to me today. Before going to work, I noticed my clock had the wrong date and time. I updated the time manually (the GPS option was greyed out for some reason) but on my drive home, the time did not display at all- just 4 dashed lines. The analog clock does show the corrected time, however. I'm baffled.

This also happened to me tonight with myself 2015 Genesis.

Could this be the early warning sign to a battery failure? Just voicing my thought. This too has happened to my Genesis.

You disable that feature and leave it on manual, to see why happens:

Thanks for your reply and effort to assist. Here's what happened: (I don't have the rotary DIS controller), so in touching the on screen display for clock settings, I was able to turn the GPS Time setting to "Off". The manual illustration you provided then says to touch the Date/Time Settings. However that line is greyed out on my car's screen, so nothing happened when I touched it - it didn't display the 5 little adjustable boxes for month, day, year, hour and minute.
I'm stumped & have scheduled a service appointment (hopefully covered under warranty) at the dealer for Monday morning. But I'm also surprised to see that two other forum members also experienced the same problem as I did on the same day - is that just coincidence or could it be that Hyundai/Genesis experienced a glitch in their GPS data stream affecting date and time settings? The date/time problem still hasn't resolved or corrected itself in my car as of today.

That indeed is very odd and too much of a coincidence, I wonder where you guys are located?
Does your NAV works ok? This should validate if you have a good GPS signal(which you can check in the settings as well)
Another thing might be worth checking to see if you have a GSM radio signal on the head unit (should be some signal bars on the top right hand corner of the screen).

This just happened to me. The clock just started displaying -- -- and it wouldn't let me update the clock manually. I'm sitting in the car trying to reset it again using the update.

I have a genesis 2015 and I just had this clock issue this morning, and the digital display not show time and the settings does not allow you to make change of the clock manually and the GPS button can be turned on and off without problem? is this something systematic for Hyundai for this model?

I just experienced exactly the same thing!! I was on a trip and ended up in an underground hotel garage. When I started the engine, my wife and I both noticed the Analog clock spinning around, and eventually settled on a time that was correct to the minute but 5 hours fast (or 7 hours slow, depending on how you choose to think about it.) Then I noticed that the date and time were no longer displaying on the screen! Have to look into this.

My 2015 Genesis has stopped displaying digital time and analog time. The areas on the clock setting to make adjustments are grayed out.. what is going on???

Same thing happening here. Was driving the other day and analog clock advanced about 9 hours to an incorrect time. Since then, the clock (both analog and digital) keeps time, but on the wrong time. When the clock reset the other day, the digital also displayed the date as Feb 6, when it is in fact August. Read the book and pushed the reset button to no avail. Clock setting allows me to switch from analog to digital and displays GPS time as "ON" but I can't make any changes to any settings.

There are a couple of posts in another thread where it was fixed by taking out the SD card for a minute and putting it back in, while the car is running.

Im in the same boat - clock just shows --:-- but I am unable to make any manual changes in the settings as they are greyed out. Ill try the SD card removal and re-insert on the way home and report back.

The fix that worked for me with my 2015 Genesis is the following:

1. Start engine, drive outside, and engage GPS to direct you to a local address (to make sure GPS is seeing the satellite).
2. Locate the reset button next to the "Sirius XM" logo on your NAVI control console. (not on the screen -- this is a tiny button
you will need a small object to press_.
3. Press and hold the button for 5-10 seconds.
4. After being dark for a couple of seconds, the screen will come on and the NAVI system will reboot.
5. About 30 seconds later, the analog clock will reset itself and the time will appear on your NAVI screen.

Dealer told me it was not necessary to remove/replace the card. Just hit the reset button. But you MUST be outside when you do this or the clock will not see the satellite and reset itself. See my post below.

There is a fix. See my post below with steps.

I have had the same problem with my clock since last Friday. Same Feb 6 setting and wrong time. I do not see your fix with steps. Can you please resend?
