  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Android Auto for Ultimate Package

Did you say you found the info for the update on the MyHyundai web site? I just bought a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) 2015 Genesis (not the DIS model), replaced my old Hyundai info on the site with the info for the new car (mileage, vin# etc.) but couldn't find the download link to get the files required do the update(?). Strangely, I was able to do it on another 2015 just like mine a while back.
Congrats! I would get the dealership to do the update for you since it's a CPO. Hyundai used to have it available for free before but now you have to get the map update from MapnSoft to get Android Auto and Apple Carplay. At least that's the case in Canada.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

the DL link has been disabled by Hyundai since the release of the new map/firmware version 12.5 the only way to get it is to pay, unless you saved the DL from last time.

Look up username bgt_workshopnn on instagram. He has Android touchscreen working on a 2014-2016 main screen. Not sure how it was done.

It's either an 8" screen or he put a 2018 radio and amp in it. He's got like 20,000 videos on those channels and I still haven't found the one you speak of.

I do see a lot of what look like custom refits that replace the OE screen with a full processor to perform screen merging, but I've never heard of anyone making one for Genesis yet.

it's a Gen 1 not a Gen 2, and it is a Russian model, not North America, while I am not sure if that makes a big difference or not, we all know different countries get different options and software.

here is the video:

I found that one, which is why I thought I hadn't found the Gen2 mentioned.

The simple answer for 2015-17 models:

8" Screens, AVN 4.5 System, Tech Package and below - Update is available.
9.2" Screens DIS system Ultimate Package - Not up-gradable (as in No... Not Possible, really! Even if your salesman said so, or you read it on the internet!)

2018 Models - per the advance information, both CarPlay and Android Auto will come as standard on all models. Again, advance information, so stay tuned.

Those models came with Windows CE installed and will not support Android nor iOS.

It worked in my 2015 Genesis. Follow this process. You need an account with myhyundai and be somwhat a techie.
Youtube restricted the video, is listed as private.
I would love to use Android Auto on 2015 Genesis... But Genesis upgrade package with larger monitor display does not support android auto...huge disappointment.

AA is not compatible with the electronics in the car. It was not invented by the time the car design was finalized. AA was released in March of 2015 but car designs are finalized a couple of years ahead.

Great information!!! The Ultimate system is very high end, but as usual windows OS limits mobile use. I have owned two Windows based smart phones and both was not as good as android phones in terms of application selection/use. The same for automotive functions as well it seems. Windows is very quick, but just have limited applications.
With that being said, the Windows based system has a lot of potential for future non-android upgrades like in the 12.5 update so we will see how things play out for it.
I don't believe that the Ultimate system in the 2015 is based on Windows. If this article is to be believed, it is based on Meego.

It's definitely Linux based, we extracted the HD images a while back to try to hack AA onto it.
