Received a JDPower survey on the navigation unit. 100 questions about the Genesis navigation. Made me think about the navi more than all the time I have used it ....

Anyone else receive a request to review the navi unit?

They spent a lot of time asking about features we would like to have but dont.

real time map update was my #1 wish...

others were interesting,,, real time gas pricing en route... navi planning from home pc with uplink to the car....

anyone wonder why they focused on the navi of all things?

Might have to do with having 2 navi this year ? 2010....

Got it, and it took a while to do! Not even sure I answered all of the questions correctly based on what I actually have and don't have navigation wise? Too long!

did mine. Pretty detailed. Made me realize all the stuff it doesn't have. My big thing is I would love to be able to control the AC, heat, etc settings via voice. When I drove the Acura TL SHWD you could actually say "Italian Restraunt" and it would list all of them in your area...pretty cool.

For all those things that our Navi Units do not have, all I can say is what I always say.

All it takes is money!

Mine is fine as is. I don't even use everything that is already in there.

Not to change the subject, I do like this DIS Navi Unit much better than the Touch Screen Navi Units. My previous car had the Touch Screen Unit, and I understand that the 2010 Genesis V8 will have the Touch Screen Navi Unit as standard, with the DIS Navi Unit in the optional package. The Touch Screen on my previous car got dirty fast, plus the anti glare coating on the screen soon wore off from where I would touch the screen. The only thing I liked better on the Touch Screen over the DIS unit, is that with the Touch Screen, I could buy an update disc, and update the information myself. Still can't get an update on the DIS unit.

Got my yesterday, did it online today at work, there are a lot of features i wish the NAV had like touch screen, easier map updating, etc
