Like many, I've been a fan of this forum for a couple of months as I have narrowed my search for a new car. The information / feedback has been great. I was all set to buy the G37 sedan when I saw the Genesis at the Chicago auto show a couple months ago. The next day I went for a test drive in a 4.6 with tech pkg and immediately changed my mind. The only challenge was finding a black 4.6 tech pkg with the cashmere interior. Well I finally found one in Florida while on vacation and drove it for a week before taking the road trip back to Chicago.
Not to be redundant, but this is a great car, especially for the price. I am coming out of an Acura RL and the Genesis blows it away (we'll have to see how it handles the snow next year). After 1,900 miles in two weeks I still can't believe the power, the quite / luxurious cabin, space and features. Even my family loves this car...a bonus! Also, this is my first car with an iPod interface - that is great, as is the stereo in general. the nav screen is also extremely clear during the day and at night. My RL was difficult to see in bright sun at times.
One the improvement side, the iPod interface is a bit slow and it does not seem to stay in shuffle mode (anyone have suggestions?) Also, the logic and menus for the nav are not as good as the Acura. Acura probably has one of the most intuitive nav set ups. Bluetooth is very good in general, but it would nice to be able to transfer the phonebook.
Will likely put the Genesis badge on the back today! More to come....
