  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Another Proud Genesis (4.6 Tech) Owner - 9 Pictues in Return

Welcome! Nice pics. I have that same color combo and love it. I did put chromes on though. Gives it a little extra glow!

Moose, where did you get your chrome wheels? Did you have 'em done, or does somebody sell them already polished? They do look awesome with that black paint...

Hey JamesD,
Yeah, I really like the look. I like to always do something different with my car, but stay as close to stock as possible. I saw those wheels on ebay, and jumped right on them. They are an exchange for the stock ones which were on the car. See the attached thread for my earlier post with more info.

Way To Go! I am confident you will enjoy your 2010 as much as I do my 2009. I have a blk/blk 4.6 w/tech pkg and all emblems changed. I have owned premium sedans from MB BMW and Lexus and have NEVER received the attention i do with my Genesis. There are so many pluses about the car and the quality of the driving experience, that after 11 months of ownership, I feel I don't have to mention "what a great value it is" anymore. It's just a great car... PERIOD!

I live in Vegas and just completed a one day trip to LA to see the new Equus at the LA Auto Show. During the drive the performance, comfort and surprisingly the economy of my Genesis was excellent. Averaging between 75-80, I achieved 27 MPG for the 600+mile trip. (based upon what i saw at the show, the Equus will be in my garage when it arrives next year)

As someone mentioned, prepare to have many people approach you about the car, especially with the badging. I am regularly stopped at all gas stations. ( i would recommend adding the front badge, people always stop to look when they're in a crosswalk) ENJOY!

I just bought my 2010 Genesis. Don't tempt me with the Equus!!!

I have not seen Equus in person yet. Since they basically have the same engine, can I say Genesis is designed for the drivers while Equus is designed for passengers in the back - the big bosses?

Thoughts?

That's true in Korea, where it's a chauffeured car, but I think they're retooling it in the US to be more of a driver's car. Presence and ammenities-wise, I think the Equus is more of a head-to-head with the Lexus LS460L.

Are they redoing the interior? I saw some pics in the Edmunds preview, and it looked like that interior was not as nice as the North American-spec Genesis'.

I don't know, but I find it hard to believe they'd even consider charging considerably more with an interior inferior to the Genesis. I expect that things like the ultra-premium leather and suede headliner to remain, along with additional features like passenger's cooled seats, probably massaging seats too.

It's the dash that was bothering me - there seemed to be a giant expanse of black plastic in the middle.

One of the nice things about the Genesis interior is that they've managed to avoid the giant black plastic center stack so common in many competing cars, so it struck me as a step backwards in the Equus...

Hmmm, didn't really notice it because there's far, far more plwood accent and an acre of black leather on the dash. I can see how it might be concerning, but it seems like a trade-off of black and grey plastic instead of sliver plastic on the Genesis for the center stack.

For me, the most distracting parts of the interior are the seat function buttons on the door, too much wood-like accents, and the vertical vent configuration (to match the recent Hyundai design trend).
