  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

On my way into work today, I drove by the shipping lot where they load up the new cars (Hyundai, Kia, Mazda) to send out to the dealers. Today, there was a gray R Spec sitting in the lot waiting to be loaded up and shipped out. So somewhere here on the west side of the US, there will be a new Gray R Spec shoing up at a dealership.

It's been a while since I've seen one rolling out of here. I know where the lot is where they keep the Ginney's but I rarely see an R Spec sitting in that lot either.

So if anyone is looking for a Gray R Spec, there's a new one headed to a dealership.

I am in SoCal and I hadn't seen any on the road at all. In the last week I saw a black one like mine in a parking lot. I also saw a White RSpec in my apartment complex with Dealer Plates. Didn't think they made them in White.

You sure it was an R Spec? R Spec doesn't come in white in the US. They make a non-R spec 5.0L model... it's just called the Genesis 5.0. That's probably what you saw (unless you saw a Canadian model *OR* a specialty car - HMA is based out of SoCal, I thought, so who knows).

I have yet to see another R-spec in my area.( kind of cool being the only one) The 2012 R-spec doesn't come in white, Only black, grey, silver. Maybe they will add colors in the years to come? Has anyone seen the 2013 model yet?:D

I have an RSpec so I know what the damn 5.0 RSPEC badge looks like. I even checked again on my way back from getting lunch to make sure, due to the comments I was likely to get. I'll get a picture next time, but lunch was getting cold. It was white and had the same badging mine did. They do exist people.

I BELIEVE YOU!

Hence why I said "*OR* a specialty car - HMA is based out of SoCal, I thought, so who knows".

Those silly Hyundai reps, driving a new car every day. I'll bet you they have all kinds of customs that either make to production eventually... or not at all.

PS - I saw your photo album the other day. The pics are a bit small, but your R Spec looks MINT. Can't tell if you badged the front though... did you?

Hyundia has a corporate office down in L.A.

The cars however enter port at Port Hueneme, about 75 miles north of LAX. They are processed here on the Navy base and then shipped out by truck. Since I work on the Navy base, I see them roll off the ships all the time as well as get to see them loaded up on the trucks for delivery.

As for R Specs, I've seen one black one here on base, plus my Gray one. I've seen a sliver and now a gray one being loaded up on trucks for shipment in the last few months. But that's it for R Specs around here.

I know the dealer here had one, and I bought it. He hasn't gotten another one yet. There was also a gray one just south of me at a dealer and one just north of me at another dealer. But that was it for my area. Not sure where the black one came from. But since it was on base, it probably belonged to a sailor and could have came from anywhere. I didn't see the plates to see where it was registered.

I have seen a couple of the Genessis on the road but not more than a hand full. And that's including all the way back to '09 models.

I wish I could say it was me. I am looking for a black on black r-spec.

They don't offer the r-spec in white. Perhaps the owner purchased a badge and put it on the car. Did it have the r-spec wheels and headlights?

LOL... deja vu.

Holdmeback OWNS an R Spec - if he says he saw one, I believe him, especially since HMA headquarters is right around the corner from his location, and they sell white R Specs in Canada, for instance. Who's to say some executive didn't get one? Those guys can do anything they want!

I keep on checking that garage, but it was never open. Yesterday there was a new Elantra in there. It must be somebody who works for Hyundai. I didn't see anything, but the back of the Genesis. It had the same badging and dealer plates. If I ever see the guy I'll have to ask him.
