Well, story update......
I just got off the phone with our service department. My replacement headliner arrived last week and work was to start on my headliner this past Monday. I didn't receive any updates, so I called in today. To my horror, my service manager began to explain to me that they had pulled out ALL of my interior in order to try and replace the cream colored headliner in the Design Edition. The part cost was $1,800. With all the interior out, they were still unable to pull the old headliner out without creasing it. When they unpacked the headliner from the wooden box, there were some gaskets, grommets, and other small items they had to replace or swap from the old headliner. Because the part is so finicky, they do not want to crease the new one when installing it. So, now they are calling a glass guy to come in and remove the front windshield in order to try and install this thing. This tiny little noise has snowballed into a HUGE issue. I have been without my car for a total of 15 business days now with 3 trips. For Indiana, the no-lemon law is 4 attempts to repair the same issue or without the car for 30 business days. If they don't have this car back to 100% when they finish (going to white glove this damn thing!), I will push the issue as much up the ladder as I physically and financial can. 99% of everything else with the car has been the best I've ever owned. It's so disappointing that this one tiny, insignificant defect is affecting my enjoyment of such an otherwise great car.
I hope my unfortunate journey will help many down the road to find a fix for this issue that seams rather large in the community. Please say a prayer for my peace of mind!
