  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any way to change default (initial) phone volume?

The Bluetooth connection to my iPhone works well, and I use it frequently. But whenever I receive or make a call the volume is set way to low, and I have to crank it up every time. Is there some way to increase the default volume that is used when making/receiving a call?

The way mine works is it remembers the volume it was last set to. In other words, if I crank it up real loud, this is how it will sond every time I start the car until I change it. Maybe this has something to do with the head unit type? Tech/non tech

If you have a phone call coming in and it is to quiet; adjust the volume using the volume control as it is ringing. I think I have mine set on 12.

If you speaker volume is low, then adjust that when talking to the person with the volume knob.

I've been using the volume up/down buttons on the steering wheel rather than the knob. It does adjust the volume, but it doesn't save it for the next call, so I have to crank it up each time. Do you think turning the volume knob rather than using the buttons will cause it to save the setting?

It doesn't - at least on my '09.

My phone ring volume default is saved. The speaker volume is not - it always reverts to about mid-range, and I always have to turn the volume up completely. Although I haven't tried it, I suspect the phone volume is set to whatever the current speaker volume is.

That matches my experience exactly.

The Bluetooth connection seems to never lose connection when I pair it to my brother's iphone and as you say I have to crank it up every time ... this I can tolerate but what is really annoying is that when I pair it to my own Samsung phone it looses its connection every few miles and I have to pair it again. I am stuck with this phone until the end of the year before I can upgade it to an iphone but do you or anyone else know how to make the Samsung work with the Bluetooth better?

That's a bummer...
Most BT/handsfree connections' performance varies depending on the phone model.
Not much you can do to the DIS system, but try searching for a firmware update for your Samsung phone.
They might have an updated BT firmware for yours.

for those people that have low phone volume issues, make sure the volume on your phone is turned all the way up. this corrected the problem with my iphone. now i can adjust volume from steering wheel or knob and it sounds good.
