The light is a good thing and I don't see it as an item that needs to be fixed.
The light comes on for the headlights and tailights. It is typically considered a light for your headlights (the S. Korean translation in the manual doesn't quite state it correctly). The second light is for the fog lights.
If you leave your lights on Auto as most people do and you don't have a light that tells you they are on how are you to know when the lights are on at dusk, dawn, when it's raining, etc... And if you are a good driver and by some state laws depending you must drive with your lights on in those situations. In which case a lot of people forget to turn them off. With the Genesis you will be saved a dead battery as the car will automatically shut them off anyway but you could be cycling the battery more then necessary.
On the lack of dimming. I could see that as being a nice feature but it will not happen with a software update because it would need a change of hardware to make the light dimmable.
As for the car not reminding people to turn off their turn signal. You are still driving the automobile which is a few thousand pounds of metal. This is an item which can at a moments notice kill you, your occupants and the people around you. It is the drivers responsibility to drive the car, not the cars responsibility. So pay attention. Scan the road, use the turn signal and turn it off your self. The moment that cars do indeed drive themselves and we relinquish all control, great! Untill then turn off the phone, scan the road around you, be curtious to other drivers, drive when the light turns green and turn off the bloody turn signal after you have changes lanes. Is it really that hard to remember?
Sorry for the rant, but the things I have seen on the road would amaze. I have actually seen someone read music while playing a guitar while driving!
