  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have the 17 speaker Lexicon system, and the rear deck vibrates pretty bad when certain bass notes hit. This is with or without the sun shade up. It is not a blown speaker. Not that kind of sound. Sounds almost like it's plastic on plastic.

I have it too. Don't know what is rattling but I hate it. Only happens on certain frequencies.

I'm eventually going to take it in and have it looked at. Just was wondering if it was a common thing, or not. Glad it's just more than my car.

It's the sunshade, regardless if the shade is up or down. It rattles with certain bass frequencies. There is a thread somewhere on here about this I believe.

Maybe you guys just have too many speakers. I only have the 14 speaker premium package and with the sound turned up no rattling at all. The music is so clear and the bass pumps hard with a punch. My sun screen doesn't rattle so maybe yours is loose or something, I would have them check it out to be sure. I didn't want the tech package because I've heard about issues with the Nav unit. I have had zero issues with my touch screen unit or sound system so far very enjoyable. I have a two 12" sub speaker box I took out of my old car that I was going to put in to Genesis but found out it wasn't needed. What setting do you have the bass set at? Maybe you can adjust it down a bit to see if it stops the rattling.

It is the rear sunshade without question, last year I brought mine to Best Buy after purchasing some DynaMat and had them install it across the entire rear deck, including behind the rear seats (it all removes together pretty easily). The problem seems to be that the shade rides to close to the speakers on the back deck, when the bass hits hard enough it vibrates the shade. If the shade is up it will not matter how much sound deadening material you put in, but now with my shade down it rarely makes any noise. I got the DynaMat at Amazon for a lot cheaper then you can find locally. Best Buy charged me $75 for the hour it took them to install, very professional work.

I hope this helps :)
