If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anybody installed Genesis OEM mudguards? I have seen them on EBAY. I have a lot of brake dust on lower front sides of car and get dirty splashes on lower rear sides.

I bought a set. They are easy to install.

I installed them front and back for the reasons you mentioned and hoping to avoid damage from the tires picking up rocks etc. My Genesis is black so they are not too noticeable

No holes to drill. You dont need to remove the tires. Use a stubby screwdriver and turn the wheels in the front to get more room up there.

My problem with them is that they are matte black and my car is silver, they kind of look misplaced on the car in terms of color. Has anyone had them painted to body color? If so cost?

There was a guy on here selling them for a few hundred dollars painted. The guards are so small, I hardly notice them.

I saw the fronts for 35 and the rears for 50. So it costs $115, to have them painted for a total of $200?

look for chris green on this forum , i had his painted pearl white to match his genesis & they look so nice i might buy another set & paint them to match my pearl blue genesis

I had have the blue and had originally planned to paint them but decided to install them without paint first to see how they looked. I decided they looked fine as is and didn't spend the extra money on having them painted, not that it would have been that much.

Found this close up picture of rear flaps. Anyone of pics of them on their car?...especially further back to see how noticeable they are. My first thought was that mudguards would destroy the cars clean look but then I realized my Toyota Avalon and Acura TL both have them and the only time I notice them is when I'm chipping the packed snow and ice off them.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I have them and love them (see my gallery). I had mine painted to match my car by a local body shop. They don't shield the sides of the car 100% from spray when driving through puddles/wet roads, but they've helped eliminate the small pitting/rock chips I was encountering (they sand the roads here in winter).

Edit: Just noticed that someone posted my old mud flap thread....thanks.

Interestingly, the rear wheel wells are louvred. I am assuming that this is to allow airflow to escape reducing drag or possibly to reduce the amount of splash during rain. You can see from this demonstration how the concept works. I think I would chalk this one up under the thread, what surprises have you found on your Genesis. Amazing attention to detail on this car.

Thanks. I should have searched for that thread earlier. They look look very inconspicuous. Makes one wonder if they are even very effective. The flaps on our Honda and Toyota are considerably bigger.

Has anyone tried installing one of those plastic films, like StonGard?

I have the Genesis Mud Guards, and at first I also thought that they would not work very good. I WAS WRONG. I've driven in all kinds of weather, mud on the road, and although they don't look like they work, they do. Only thing I have not driven through (yet) is deep snow, but I did drive through inch high snow while out in Roswell last month.

Took the plunge and ordered a set from the supplier on Ebay. We've got a black car so they should blend in fairly well. The weather here in Michigan has been pretty nasty lately and we expect more to come.

So, besides the Genesis itself, so far we've bought, 1. Winter wheels and tires, $1215. 2. Frt and Rr winged emblems and wheelcaps, $75. 3. Rubber mats, cargo tray and mud guard, $260. 4. Ipod adapter, $35.

Gotta stop already! Oh wait...still looking for improved struts...darn....
