  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone change their Battery by themselves?

Do you register a replacement battery and do a code update in a Genesis like required in a BMW?

I've never heard of anyone needing to do that with a Genesis........
My battery is now 8 years and 4 months old.....and still cranks like new.....(even if it was 20 degrees this morning)

I bought a battery from Sam's which included installation. However, they didn't want to touch it, so I changed the battery out myself and realized the vent hose was never hooked up. No presets we're lost and I definitely wasn't done in under a minute, because I had to look in the trunk for a nut that fell.

Did Sam's Club mechanic explain why they didn't want to touch it?

Once they saw that it was in the rear, and that it had a vent hose, they left it alone 🤷‍♂️. The only thing that was a pain, was that the battery weighed quite a bit, that was the only thing, the rest of it was straight forward.

Yep, AGM battery for our Genies are heavy. But other than that I had not problem replacing battery by myself after watching few videos on YouTube.
