  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

im a big watch guy and was thinking it would be nice if the clock in the 2015 genesis would have a name on it like concord or oris, to make it one step above

IWC, like some of the upper end Benzes (there's even a rare IWC edition SL63 AMG). Of course, one of the reasons the Genesis is cheaper than these is the lack of a "prestige" badge. Most people aren't going to pay extra for a prestige badge on a clock when they won't pay for a prestige badge on the hood.

You also don't need any of those fantastic movement designers when the clock is digitally controlled.

Love this. I'd rather have a digital instrument than an inferior analog brand :)

While not really "necessary", I think it would be a nice touch...just one of those little pride of ownership things. You might not base your decision to buy the car on it, but 6 months or a year later after the newness wears off it still makes you smile. Given Hyundai is not a prestige brand, I agree with greekgeek...Seiko or Citizen would be a great choice...solid reputation and quality without the exorbitant pricing.

Clock logo affiliations only really work if the clock/watch builder offers a watch that's named for the car. Breitling comes to mind. A Breitling Bentley edition will find more favor than a Breitling Genesis edition - even if the two watches were exactly the same.
When selling prestige labels the products they're associated with need to be pretty exclusive. A Hyundai Genesis sedan is certainly a pretty slick machine but the Genesis sedan isn't ready to play with the label folks - yet. I wonder who actually makes the analog/quartz clock in the Genesis?

Maybe not prestigious, but surely TIMEX would be a more appropriate brand for the clock. Excellent operation, functional design and an affordable price. All in keeping with the Genesis itself. :)

Here's the thing though. A watch maker or clock maker is only partly known for the workmanship/jewelry. Most of the brand reputation comes from the actual movements. A good quality movement as found in Omega, Rolex, etc is a lot of what they put the brand on. And it would be completely out of line to have one of those brands on our clocks which have no such build. Instead of a precision movement, we get automatic sync with gps timing. Much more convenient, if not as prestigious.

For the ultimate in precision, "GPS".

I think you may have too much "time on your hands."

Your car is much too new. Wait until you have a few problems and then you worry about such things.

New brand name for the clock:

ThirdWorldProblem

:D

I agree, a mini Genesis wing emblem in there would have been a nice touch. ;)

Seriously, it is a frigging car clock. I would much rather have the name on my wrist than in my car.
