  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I really like the base 2009 Genesis Wheel. I have been trying to locate a good picture of the Wheel. Anyone have one that they could post?

Thanks!

No that is not the 2009 3.8 Wheel. Here is a pic someone just posted of it. I would like a better pic of the wheel if possible.

Nice looking wheels but will only fit the 3.8L. They will not clear the larger calipers on the 4.8L.

Not true according to my dealer. He claims the 18 inch wheels are for looks and that the 17 inch wheels will fit fine. I have not tried it, but maybe someone else has here to confirm it.

Have you tried it?

I'm starting to like these wheels now, but I DO seriously need to be 1 inches larger in diameter at least 18" to look good. The seventeen inch wheel looks out of place on a car this size.

Someone with photo Shop and crazy skills should make these around 18" and post it on this thread.

In Korea, the 17" wheel is pretty much the only one seen as the 4.6 Genesis is quite rare. Secondly, I am not sure if the 18" wheels and tires, so commonly seen in the US, aren't one of the reasons for the sedan's hard ride. When putting the 18" tires and wheels next to the 17's, the diameter at the tread is the same, however, one gets a whole lot more rubber sidewall in the latter - which has to be more compliant than a 1/2" of alloy rim. Because the Genesis in Korea is often a limo-type luxury car, they opt for the softer ride and that seems to come with 17" wheels and narrower tires. The trend here is 19 and 20-inch wheels that look cooler, but ride harder. Also, the better handling offered the larger rims is somewhat of a myth too. The autocrossers, in the 350z forum, often use 17" rims because tires are cheaper and their performance-times don't change. The same is true for the Le Mans series and GP cars. They run with larger rubber sidewalls and smaller-diameter rims too. However, it's conceded that the width of a rim and tire does affect performance handling.
