  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone participated JD Power elvauation?

ANYBODY GET THIS ONE YET??

According to our records, you had purchased a 2009 Hyundai Genesis Sedan in July. Within the coming days, Maritz Research – a national research organization dedicated to providing the automotive industry with the best information about customers and their vehicles – will be requesting your assistance. You will be receiving a survey for the Maritz New Vehicle Customer Study. We’d like for you to respond to the survey with your new 2009 Hyundai Genesis Sedan in mind.

By completing the survey, you will automatically be entered in the New Vehicle Customer Study Sweepstakes. Details of the sweepstakes, including the official rules, will be enclosed in the envelope you will receive.

We look forward to receiving your completed survey, and sincerely hope you are enjoying your new Hyundai Genesis Sedan!

Best Regards,

Just completed J D Powers (JDPA) survey #2. This one really wasn't about the car - it was about the dealer experience. I gave them a very good grade because the salesman was savy enough to know when to back off and let me enjoy the car.

I'm looking forward to the last survey when I can brag about the car! Anyone have comments to pass on?

The single dollar is for J.D. Power's regular survey.

The $150 is for a separate special study that appears to be funded by Hyundai. In addition to conducting its regular syndicated studies, J.D. Power also conducts special studies for manufacturers. These are essentially "practice tests" for the real thing. By paying for these special studies, and learning from the results, manufacturers can usually boost their scores on the regular study. Such assistance is a key source of J.D. Power's income.

A little bit of a conflict of interest?

The Maritz survey is yet another survey. GM is a major Maritz customer, but they also sell data to other manufacturers.

The key way all of these surveys differ from TrueDelta's: even participants will never see detailed results from them, or even an actual repair rate.
