hey guys,
I am a car audio isntaller and about to embark on a big sound quality competition install on a 12' Genesis sedan.our goal is to compaign it as much as possible and also ship it all the way to Dayton next year to compete at the spring break nationals...along with world finals etc...
As you can imagine, one of the biggest hurdles with these cars is having to tap into the OEM signal after the stock amp.
This wouldnt be needed if someone developed a MOST interface pre-amp that can read and interpret the optical signal coming out of the stock system and convert it into a signal that can be read by aftermarket gear. Such systems exists already for BMWs, Mercs, Audis, etc...and people are able to achieve AWESOME sound quality on their aftermarket systems utilizing the stock headunit...becuase its all optical...
but no one has taken the time to evaluate the Genesis yet for this possiblity.
I am working with a company i know well in Boca Raton FL, who has developed a MOST pre-amp that MAY work with the Genesis...they simply have not been able to find a car to evaluate down there.
Depending on what they find, the process can take as little as a day, or as long as 2-3 weeks, depending on how complicated the process is. But if they are indeed able to crack the code and offer the product, it will benefit a lot of people and they are willing to give the owner of the sample car a free unit, which will be worth around 1000 bucks, additionally, i will personally be willing to throw in some cash for this project if it results in a preamp for the Genesis.
So anyway, if you are intersted, please PM me here or email me at simplicitysound@yahoo.com.
oh, HOW TO TELL if you have a MOST system equipped car is simple, if you have the big I-drive type of controller behind the shifter, then its a MOST car, if you dont have it, then its not.
Thanks in advance.
