  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hey guys,

I am a car audio isntaller and about to embark on a big sound quality competition install on a 12' Genesis sedan.our goal is to compaign it as much as possible and also ship it all the way to Dayton next year to compete at the spring break nationals...along with world finals etc...

As you can imagine, one of the biggest hurdles with these cars is having to tap into the OEM signal after the stock amp.

This wouldnt be needed if someone developed a MOST interface pre-amp that can read and interpret the optical signal coming out of the stock system and convert it into a signal that can be read by aftermarket gear. Such systems exists already for BMWs, Mercs, Audis, etc...and people are able to achieve AWESOME sound quality on their aftermarket systems utilizing the stock headunit...becuase its all optical...

but no one has taken the time to evaluate the Genesis yet for this possiblity.

I am working with a company i know well in Boca Raton FL, who has developed a MOST pre-amp that MAY work with the Genesis...they simply have not been able to find a car to evaluate down there.

Depending on what they find, the process can take as little as a day, or as long as 2-3 weeks, depending on how complicated the process is. But if they are indeed able to crack the code and offer the product, it will benefit a lot of people and they are willing to give the owner of the sample car a free unit, which will be worth around 1000 bucks, additionally, i will personally be willing to throw in some cash for this project if it results in a preamp for the Genesis. :)

So anyway, if you are intersted, please PM me here or email me at simplicitysound@yahoo.com.

oh, HOW TO TELL if you have a MOST system equipped car is simple, if you have the big I-drive type of controller behind the shifter, then its a MOST car, if you dont have it, then its not. :)

Thanks in advance.

whats the company in Boca? Audio creations?

Good to see your still around Bing!

It's been a long time since I've competed in IASCA and I've always appreciated your work.

Good luck, and I'm going to look forward to your build thread.

Bing,

What exactly does MOST stand for? I'm not going all into a build, but would like to add some sort of powered subwoofer to the stock system. Is capturing a high level signal post Lexicon amplifier not doable with this car? I kind of gather that is the case based off of your first post.

hey guys, its NAV-TV. www.nav-tv.com

this is what MOST is:

http://navtv.com/product/47/genesis-vim-usb.html

to put it into much simpler terms, the OEM headunit on the Genesis (the ones with the multimedia controller knob) sends optical signal to the amp, whcih then interprets and amplifies the speakers. so ideally, we would like to have something that intercepts the signal BEFORE the stock amp, right at the digital optical side, and then convert it into pre-amp voltage. this will be the cleanest and best way to do it.

hmmmm..... I have a 2009 blk/blk tek (MOST) 17 speaker Lexicon care for a go?

Any possibility we could get them to develop a "high" quality interface for the Apple products (iPod / iPhone) -- the OEM integration is a poor excuse at best.

That would be awesome!

I was playing around in engineering mode earlier trying to fix/reset the nav after the dealer "upgraded" the firmware and I did see something about MOST, so if you enter that mode you should see what options you have with inputs, etc, no?

hey guys, sorry for the delayed response. well, i ran out of time before this car came in for its work...so i wont need it for this vehicle anymore, we have figured out an alternative for a super high quality signal source during SQ competitions.

but i know NAV-TV is still looking for this car, so contact them if you are in FL. :)
