  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Unless anything game-changing (besides the Genesis) comes along - are you planning on buying a Hyundai Genesis? If so, which one?

Definitely have to go with the V-8.

B) You (admin) may want to fix that voting above. It is the 4.6 V-8 (NOT V-6).
Fixed! Thank you, Miska! And welcome!

Indeed, the v8 is the version I'm most interested in myself...

Well, I won't be buying one, because 1, I already picked up a new car I was shooting for ever since 10 years ago(08 Pontiac Grand Prix) which was my dream car, 2, I have nowhere near the amount of money that the Genesis costs, 3, Not a fan of Rear Wheel Drive, since they tend to struggle more on the hills than the FWD, and 4, I still don't trust Hyundai nor Kia.

Only reason I have joined is to help out the site to get some much needed activity and to give any form of new informations if I can find any, and to make new friends.

Thank you for your input. I'm always telling people that FWD is still wanted - no matter how you look at it. Some people just like it.

Thank you for helping out here! I appreciate it!

I voted for the V8 sedan. If I decide to buy any of the Genesis choices it will be the V8.

I'm frustrated that I can not get more info. on the comming V-8. I was waiting for the new Pontiac G8 GT. I just went to look at it and drove it. Not a bad car but the dealer bump was $7,000. I asked if they considered the new Genesis as compation, with matching prices I think the G8 will not sell as well as they expect. Their responise was Hyundai ! , that's a joke. I remined them that the G8 is a Holden, got a pluzzed look. I'm waiting.

I would also like to see more definitive info on the Tau V8. I seems as if there should be more detail available for a car that is only a few months away from show room delivery.

The G8 is a car that I will shop against the Genesis also. I think the G8 GXP will be more comparable (price wise) than the G8 GT.

Buick is the same way. They really have nothing to be so arrogant about. This is one of the things that steers people away from domestic automobiles in the United States. It's one thing to be arrogant - but entirely another when you're arrogant and have nothing to show for your arrogance but crappy products.

What type of information are you guys looking for?

I voted for the 3.8 V6 only because there isn't enough info about the V8 available. The horsepower and torque on the V6 is very good. My wife has a '05 Toyota Avalon that has 280 horses. It moves very well and there is plenty left when you punch it at 60 MPH on the highway. The cars a comparable in size so I'm assuming the V6 Genesis will move along very well.

All that being said, if the V8 has decent gas mileage and isn't priced beyond reach I will definitely go with it because that is what I ultimately want.

It's too hard to be practical!

I think the Lexus ES350 would be a good comparison to the V6 Genesis in regards to power. I've driven the ES350 and it felt as powerful as my Cadillac DeVille DTS with the Northstar V8. So the V6 is going to have more than sufficient power.

The V8 will definitely be a novelty. I know how you feel about being practical! :p
