  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

ATF Redline D6............

I've been trying to find the bolt specs for the pan but couldn't find it.....hopefully I have them snugged enough I will soon find out AGAIN.....

. ....I was searching for the bolt specs for weeks, I criss crossed the bolts when it came to tightening them & then went all the way around & checked them again, I have them snugged , so I will surely find out if they are snugged enough....

What year and model Genesis do you have?
Never mind, i read that you have a 2009 4.6 on the first post. You could use the Hyundai service manual. You rent the online access for 3 days for about $20. You can print whatever information you need for later. I usually just print to a PDF file to save.

Go on Google and type in ZF 6HP26 service information, the first result should be a PDF from ZF with all the information you should need to perform the fluid and pan change. But the proper torque spec for the pan bolts is 10Nm or about 7.5 lb-ft.

......Well so far so good on the Transmission pan , no drips or leaks ( so far lol ) ....hit 100k miles today , so I changed my oil and filters ( cabin & Air ) and replaced my rear sway bar links.....

Wow.....it's been awhile but I'm about to do a transmission ATF drain ( my 2nd time doing it on this car ), ATF pan replacement , oil change , coolant flush & replace my alternator next month .....so it's time to start finding everything I need for this job.......still going to use Redline ATF as it has performed well for me so far......I'll post again once I have everything in front of me.......

....I see that they have metal ATF pans now with replaceable filters ......

.....have to do my homework.....

Wow, thanks so much for posting this (and for starting this thread)!!! I don't need a transmission service yet, but this is awesome info to have available for the future.

Also, good to know that the Redline fluid has worked for you. Another user was just asking about fluid brands a few days ago...

EDIT: Oops, that user has the Aisin transmission in the 3.8-powered car, not the ZF. May or may not take different fluid.

I'd be curious to find out if you, or anyone else on here, has tried the Shift Kit that website offers for the 6HP26 transmission. @Gunkk ? Anyone else?

I hadn't/haven't. My "ZF" was retired in 2014.

Glad to hear they've got options!

Part number is 0501 216 243. I got mine in a kit from FCP Euro that came with all new bolts and the ZF fluid.
......so I'm currently looking at this from that website...it's not stating if it's plastic or metal, though it looks plastic
