  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I purchased a "spoiler" for my truck deck. It's a tape on unit which uses 3M tape.

What should I do to prepare the surface of the trunk in order to have the most secure attachment possible?

Any input is appreciated.

To add to that get a couple of friends to help set it.
The red 3m tape is super sticky. You want it perfectly lined up before you press it down.
I put a piece of blue painters tape with a mark at dead center on the front bottom edge of the spoiler then did the same on the trunk just above the emblem. Makes lining it up much easier.

Thanks for the link, Always...... NSX, I plan to have a little help. Thank goodness the tape came already attached to the "lip", all I have to do is align it properly and pull the tap protector strip and press firmly. So, they took a lot of the work out of it..... the rest is up to me.

Would you post pics after installed to share with us.
I'd love to install one on my ride but finding a vendor to color match my car paint is next to impossible.
No one even Hyundai included can mix the so called Caspian Black aka YB6 color.

I bought my spoiler from CARID, pre-painted in white satin pearl. Matched perfectly

I don't remember where I bought mine, but, you really want to get one that's pre-painted because a body shop would have to charge waaay too much to make it worth their time/effort.

Seems like I paid ~$130ish.... +/-
