  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I started my 2009 4.6 Genesis this AM and all of the electronics and screen were dead. AC still worked, but without the screen to indicate temp. Screen, radio and Nav dead. i do see a flashing blue light where CDs are inserted, however, none have been inserted in months. I have held the volume switch down hoping it might reboot...no good. i have let the car sit for a few hours hoping it would fix itself as it has when i have had just radio issue, but no good. Thoughts?

Check your master fuse located between drivers door and dashboard in Yellow. The issue you discribed happened to me, and I noticed once I bumped the master fuse everything turned back on. Press it in firmly. Hopefully the fix is this simple for you.

As a last resort, disconnect the neg.(blask) battery cable in the trunk and leave it disconnected for ten minutes or so then reconnect and also make sure all ground bolts and nuts are tight which are next to the battery. Start car and don't do anything for two minutes or so and wait to see if it reboots and gives you the nanny screen.

^^ this. There is also a fuse on the opposite side between the passenger door and the dash labeled "audio" that controls the headunit and some other electronics. you might want to check that out as well.

According to the service manual:

The power does not turn on: The fuse is disconnected. Replace with suitable fuse. If fuse is disconnected (I guess that means blows) again, contact dealer.

The video does not work: The brightness level has been set to the lowest level. Adjust to a higher level.

That's about it for that....LoL...

IN the passenger compartment fuse (LH relay box) there is a fuse marked AUDIO 3, 10A, AV Head Module, Active Headrest Sensor Module.

in the Passenger Compartment Relay Box, RH, there is Fuse "AUDIO 1", 10A controls AUDIO, Camera Module, Rear Audio Switch, Front Monitor, Media Module, AV Head Module

The Yellow fuse was the fix! Thanks for the responses.

I just fixed this same problem thanks to the input from everyone in this thread. It was the yellow master fuse on the driver's side. Not blown, just not making good enough contact, I guess. I'm going to put dielectric grease on it tomorrow in the hopes of preventing it from happening again.

Pulling that same fuse is a good temporary fix to the "no audio" bug. If you ever experience that problem then shut down the car, pull the fuse, reinsert the fuse and wham bam the audio returns. I've had my GPS updated and that includes a firmware up date. I haven't had the "no audio" issue sense the procedure. Actually it rarely occurred prior to the update (and head unit exchange...long story) but the fuse pull trick worked immediately and every time.
