  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Audio Whine

I have just picked up a 2012 with the exact same problem. Premium touch screen head unit that I found was replaced once while in possession of the first owner at very early miles but no detail as to what was the exact cause. This is a very high pitch tone that both I and my daughter can hear clearly and it is fatiguing in an otherwise great sounding unit. It occurs without change no matter what input you are using including direct to iPhone. Ill start hitting our local Dealer and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for these great threads!

Oddly in heavy rain here today, the high pitch tone went away and Im guessing the humidity or water in contact with a ground improved the conductance to the point the dog whistle tone went away. Lets see what happens when it drys back up.

The high pitch tone persists. The dealer has replaced the head unit and the amplifier and it is still there. This is loud enough that the stereo is unusable, as it will drive you out of the car. The sound can be heard with the engine off or on, in all inputs but can be heard most clearly in the AM mode. It is constant in pitch and does not change with engine speed. Seems to be absent when a call is taken from iPhone when the Bluetooth is working (another post). Any suggestions here owners before I start back with the dealer?
