  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Auto Hold Problem

...Picked up a random drunk homeless and asked him to hold the button down while I did the Auto Hold on D... it WORKED!

Also gave him some money.
So do you pay him each trip? Is it the same guy each time, or just the first that you find?

He vanished in no time like all homeless people. I bought the thing that goes in the hood, and Auto Hold is fully working.

Mine has it to, suddenly like in a day it just popped.

Auto Hold Problem Solved!
It took three master Hyundai machinists and a phone call to figure out that it was the hood switch! Vehicle not reading hood is shut. The invoice says, installed 92736–3000 pad lid switch. Although he told me, one of the hood bumpers was missing and it wasn't making contact with the switch. $1.19 part.
Thanks man...the hood switch bumper was my issue as well. Every time I would push the auto hold in traffic the E brake would engage and the only way to release it was to put the car in P then back in D.

The switch and the bumper are on the drivers side as seen in the pics. (finger pointing to hood switch that is depressed by rubber bumper)

I robbed a bumper from the front the right part of the hood (there is a right and left bumper at the very front) and I just installed it where mine was missing for the hood switch.

Viola!!!

Auto hold works again.
