  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80
is it getting better or worse ? For 2021/ 2022 Genesis in general. And the G80 in particular.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Generally speaking all models with the exception of the G80 are showing improved inventories. If you want a 2021 G80 in white w/black or Black w/ black you can have your pick. There are always exceptions popping up with a few silvers and Tasman blue. I have been trying almost all day every day to find a 3.5 RWD silver w/ beige to no avail. One showed up one state over and I waited until the next morning to inquire and it had already sold. I found one in Texas only to be told by the dealer they would sell only to Texas residents. The sales person at my local dealer and his sales manager are actively searching for me multiple states over. I have been doing this for decades and I have never seen it so slanted in favor of the seller.

I think we are starting to see a few more vehicles trickle in, but be forewarned, parts supplies are non-existent right now, so if anything at all needs service you could be weeks without your vehicle. I'm waiting now nearly 8 weeks for a replacement windshield because the one from the dealership was cracked and not even genesis customer service manager can locate one. They literally have no ETA for hardly anything, especially new models 2021 and 2022.

Per Parts Supply;
They come in on Container Ships, stacked HIGH with hundreds of containers. These containers are not bolted down. They are just stacked high. (Just finished reading about a container ship rolling, off California, in a storm, heading for Canada. Lost a bunch of containers when the ship took a steep roll.) Don’t know about Canadian West Coast Ports, but many MANY Container Ships waiting to off load at Long Beach.
Have you seen photos of how high the containers are stacked?
(These ships are Top Heavy!
I don’t see how they are safe or don’t tip). That’s where our parts are sitting. Cars, come in on car carriers that dock at separate locations.

BTW, our governor in Florida, DeSantis, (love him) has posted that those ships waiting in California should come to Florida, as we have three ports that can handle those ships. One is Tampa. Another on East Coast and a third in Panhandle. (Although the Panama Canal has been expanded and new larger locks built, don’t know if these super large Container Ships can get through).

Yeah a lot of the cars undock at the East Coast, NC and SC to be exact. Parts get offloaded about 100 miles off the coast of CA apparently ;)

Yeah, he made some noise but it takes about 10 to 15 days to make the trip and costs much. I went over the George Washington bridge last week and thought $12 was high. Big ships can pay $400,000 for the Panama Canal.

No matter where they land, trucks are a problem too. The big ships can have 12,000 containers. That is a long line of trucks. I don't expect to see an armada of ships heading to Tampa.
