So I have had my 2015 genny since August.
So far, I have taken her to the shop 3 times.
Bad brakes, bad alignment from factory, power locks didn't work, and the backup camera stops working intermittently.
In the middle of backing up, my camera cut out. Subsequently, I hit a low retaining wall that I couldn't see out of my window and mirrors.
I talked to the dealer, and they said they have had tons of problems with the cameras {same one on sonata} and so they replaced it,
I contacted the Genesis connect center about the bumper damage to see if they can do anything. They referred me back to the dealer. The dealer submitted for it, and he said his rep said they can't do a thing. So back to Genesis connect, they said they couldn't do anything either. They said there is a disclaimer that advises the driver to "be careful of surroundings" they are not responsible.
Is it just me, or does it not seem right that they won't stand behind the product failure. The camera was obviously bad, a known issue. It failed, and as a result I got damage to my car, don't get me wrong, I drove cars for a lot of years without cameras, but I have grown to depend on them, every vehicle I have had in the last 7 years have had them. They are so important the federal government requires them. So why can't they honor a $1400 repair? Am I being unreasonable about this?
I asked. My Cadillac service manager about it when I was getting the included oil change with free loaner....he said Cadillac would cover it no questions asked. Pretty sad that Hyundai didn't offer me even a discounted repair or a break on parts.
Any thoughts on this? Ideas on something to help me?
