  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2014 Equus Signature with 17 speaker Lexicon. So, the underpowered 8" stock sub now has 600w RMS available after installing an aftermarket amp. Huge improvement for sure but rattles the rear deck depending on the song. I tried a ported JL 10w3v3 in the trunk but could barely tell the sub was maxed out while I was in the cabin. Standing outside the car there was no evidence of a 10" JL pounding in the trunk. The trunk is so well insulated and airtight that I'm simply wasting a great sub. I can't replace the 8" stock sub as it'll just rattle the rear deck even more. I suppose I could remove it, creating better transfer of air between the trunk and the cabin, but it's difficult to access. Whole back seat must be removed. I could add a bass tube to the back center console slot, might look cool...probably look cheap though.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I feel like I've researched this to death and now running in circles.

So, here's what I did. I purchased the JL Audio CP210 bass wedge which is a lower grade speaker (10w0v3), but there's two of them. It out preformed the single 10w3v3. I'll still remove the 8" stock sub from the rear deck, allowing more air flow between the truck and cabin. I'll provide an update once I do that if anyone's interested.

Do you have an update? Also I'm interested in how you wired the subwoofers since I've heard its somewhat complicated.

Could I wire a new amp to the rear deck 8" subwoofer amplifier from the trunk to power subs?
