I use the + battery terminal(in fuse box) and negative chassis ground post(near fender under cap) located under the hood to charge my battery. That is a proper way to charge car batteries or jump start a dead battery in any car. You should never hook up the jumper cables to both the battery terminals. One should be on the battery positive terminal and the other on a chassis ground. The Genesis battery terminals under hood is perfectly setup to correctly charge or jump the battery.CAR: 2015 Genesis Sedan 3.8 Technology AWD Canada
Do I really need to remove the battery before I can charge it? This seems crazy. The manual is not very clear.

I want to charge the battery from the + and - connector under the front hood. But the manual says:
NEVER attempt to recharge
the battery when the vehicle’s
battery cables are connected
to the battery.
What am I missing? I guess I need to disconnect the battery to be able to charge it. ?
I believe the owners manual was referring to charging the battery directly from inside in the trunk, not the under hood terminals.
Here is how I charge my battery monthly. Positive goes to the battery and the negative goes to the chassis ground on the frame.
