You mean H8 vs H9I'm still looking for that response only specific to the fitment of the negative cable onto the A8 battery vrs the A9.
Prev treatise sounds like a lithium battery sales pitch.
The battery arrangement is set up for a H9 battery in our cars; therefore you may have to "adapt" the battey cable and battery holding bracket to fit a H8 battery. I would just buy a proper H9 battery to avoid fitment issues.I'm still looking for that response only specific to the fitment of the negative cable onto the A8 battery vrs the A9.

What size did you put in?Replaced my original Rocket H9 battery from 2015 with the one from O'Reilly dated 07/21. They are running a 15% discount if you have it shipped. After returning original core, the total was $182 including tax.
H9 AGM. Here is the link: https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/...-group-size-95r-h9/ssbq/95rplt?q=H9+agm&pos=1What size did you put in?
Its full replacement.Curious, is that four year warranty full replacement, or prorated?
If it's full replacement, I would go with Pep Boys.
Any 12v battery will work if the CA(cranking amps) is sufficient enough to start the engine. The issue is usually fitment related when using different size batteries.I have a Ford Expedition 5.4 V8 could that battery be used to test in the Genesis temporarily? Meaning if it will start, test alternator etc…
I installed an Interstate H9 in my '10 4.6, $204 out the door from Firestone. It was easy and quick. However, shortly after, the seatbelt and psngr air bag light would come on periodically. Have called dealership yet to see if I need to do anything. Doesn't seem to affect anything else. Never lost presets either. I had just bought the car 4 months before, so not sure of the it's age. NO WARNING at all, just dash lights that went crazy when trying to start 4 or 5 times, then nothing. Blessed to be in my driveway! There are plenty of threads on this subject already. The replacement battery is an AGM H9. Many people have got new batteries at AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, etc and done it themselves.

If you purchase online for in-store pickup at Advance Auto, this weekend (through March 25) you can get a 20% discount, and they may install it for you (you can call ahead and ask).
I know there are some videos on YouTube for 1G Genesis, but not sure about 2G, but probably the same.
Some AV settings may be lost with a DIY battery change, but the only real complaints I have heard was the 2009 in California only, due to California emission testing data that was lost. Problem was fixed by Hyundai in 2010. It's not like the problems with some cars (like BMW) where the car won't start if there is a power loss during battery change (due to security system).
When my 2012 Gen sedan has to sit for long periods, I simply unplug the battery lol Once reconnected, I lose some settings like (clock, radio etc) but otherwise everything is fineMy car sat in a lot for a month and it killed the battery. Nothing I did would revive it. Picked up a new one from O'Reillys ($190) and on one occasion it's gone dead in a little over a year. Some kind of serious current draw on the thing. Someone here posted Autozone? had the proper battery for $139? with a coupon/discount.
I got one of these battery tender's from Amazon ($24?) and hard wired the included plug-in adapter (ground post on the fender & hot from the fuse box... don't forget to add an inline fuse). If it's gonna sit for more than 4-5 days, I'll throw this on. Easy to install along with the battery. My wife's old 2007 Sante Fe's non AGM battery lasted nearly seven years before it died (a month b/4 we traded it in... along with a new set of tires... figures). So much for new technology.
