  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So i kind of noticed something after getting my 15 genesis
there arent many on the road! now i dont know if i should be happy i have a nice car thats a best kept secret or theres a reason theyre not selling well. Either reason isnt good for Hyundai.

Not a high volume sales car, but that seems OK to me. Where I am in north east Ohio, the road is packed with Fords, Chevys, Toyotas and Hondas.Lots of SUVs of all makes and from the Koreans, lots of Sonatas, Optimas and Sorentos. The premium car with the best representation here is Cadillac. 3s, A4s and C Class represent most of the BMW, Audi, Benz here. It becomes rarer to see the 5s, 7s, A6, A8s, Es, Ss. So my point is that it is OK for another Genny to be a rarer site as it is not the common car that clutters the road. And my Genny never fails to turn the head of the Caddy, BMW, Audi, Benz driver. Plus I own an A4 and a Cadillac so I am one of the Caddy/Audi drivers with a swivel head on the Genesis.

I was thinking the same thing, but yesterday on the drive home. There was 2 of them next to me. lol

I havent seen one in the 5 weeks ive had the car.

I looked at E-class Mercedes & Caddy's when shopping

I liked the Genny best - it got - and gets - dynamite reviews.

That's enough for me.

I've seen a few 2015's rolling around in my area. They are still fairly new so it will take time. The first few years I had my Genesis Coupe I felt very special on the road as very few were around and I would be approached at gas stations, people asking what kind of car it was out of their window on the freeway, people taking pictures, etc but now I see them all over the place.

I’ve seen 2 in two weeks what looked like a 2013 and a new one….kind of discouraging. I enjoyed the fact that I hardly ever saw one.

At least here in the SF Bay Area I see plenty of 2009-2014 sedans. They are fairly common here and I seem them pretty much daily (not counting the one my neighbor has).

I see quite a lot of them north of Houston; probably one and sometimes two every time I'm on the road.

Can't speak for the US, but the sales in Canada are pretty good when compared to other vehicles in its class.

March 2015

Genesis Sedan- 237
Lexus GS - 38
Cadillac CTS - 73
Acura RLX - 30
Audi A6 - 72
BMW 5 Series - 110

North Dallas suburb is known for its hi end model automobile.
And I'm not going to say the Genesis is outnumbering the MB, BMW, and Lexus alike.
But anytime I hit the road there are plenty of 09-14 to be seen running around.
And the 15s are increasingly growing in numbers.
Can't say that for Infinitis and Acuras though.

Pho,

Been driving up and down Preston Road for a month and have not seen another Genesis. The only 2015 I've seen was in Norman, OK.

I told one of my customers it was an Austin and he had to walk outside to within 2 feet of it to tell I was pulling his leg.

Still rare, which is good.

I'm in Richadson north where there are plenty of Bimmers and MB's but always see a few 09-14 running around. I wouldn't say this if it were a couple of years back.

That's because I avoid rush hour. :D

The new Genesis is selling pretty well here in South Florida. I see a few every day...

Sales visibly are ramping up.
I was concerned in the beginning.
Right now - the aggressive pricing and the good reviews are getting positive response.

IMHO, this summarizes everything: G1 brought us an excellent car. G2 is way better.
Too good to fail...

The sedan numbers, while impressive compared to same time last year when G1 sales were obviously ebbing, are still small in the scheme of things. The actual numbers are also somewhat elusive, as the sedan is often combined with the coupe numbers and Hyundais own reporting seems to be loose. Both the BMW 5 Series and MB E-class appear to have each sold twice as many as the Genesis sedan YTD. The Infiniti Q50 sold almost twice as many and as a reference point, the Chevy Corvette sold about 2,000 more cars in the first three months of 2015.

I am rooting for the new Genesis, but it is still a minor seller for Hyundai who also has the #8 and #12 best selling car in the US. It did edge the Audi A6 and about matched the Lexus GS so far this year. Depending on how you classify the car, it is doing well in its class, but there is a reason they appear to be somewhat rare in the wild.

Ya know, to be honest, I think it's pretty amazing that the Hyundai Genesis, in it's second generation, is managing to get half the sales the 5-Series and E-Class are getting. Even the Infiniti Q50 is a car that's been around for quite awhile and has more followers/fans built up over the years.

For the Genesis to be outselling the Audi A6 and even matching the Lexus GS is an amazing accomplishment. These are all veteran players in this luxury game...

I was just in Ft Myers/Bonita Springs and saw a bunch of them. It was cool to see them on the road but I don't see them where I live in NY. I like that i don't see them much and I do see a ton of MB, BMW, Audi, and Acura's everywhere. I feel like I am in the know and original. (whether or not that is actually true)
