Genesis Model Year

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G70
I just converted from being a BMW lifer and got a white Genesis G70 3.3t with dune peanut butter and black interior. Did the standard and got rebates bringing sales price to $40,500. At this price at BMW all I could get is a basic 2 series V4 executive demo and that would be $41500 with 8k miles
For some reason Genesis went up on the 2.0 $1500 and down on the 3.3T $4000 on MSRP nationally. This has created a situation where the V6 standard is the same price as a 2.0 prestige. Or maybe even less. But the crazy part is a V6 3.3t standard has more features than the 2.0 standard. So it has the same 19” wheels as the G70 Prestige package 2.0 as an example. And has concierge seat. And you could never get a peanut butter two tone of this level on a base car at BMW. You would need to be in the $80k range and they would charge a $4K premium for the color interior.

The game it appears is BMW and others have been able to up sell 2.0 V4 cars to $48k or more. Now Genesis is bringing a luxury V6 to a lower price point. I shopped a lot the sweet spot in the Genesis market is a G70 3.3t standard V6.

People are literally paying $12k more at $54k for nearly the same car for the 3.3t prestige package. And in some cases even over msrp for colors like Siberian ice which is a no no.

Interesting market. Heads up they also will have a few stand alone Genisis dealerships soon too.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Clarifying price sticker was $44500 Dealer add ons that they all seem to have of a door guard and LoJack took it out to 46,500. Discount $4,500 made it about $42k.

thats a LOT of sports car for 42k. Gorgeous.

I agree. Bought a 3.3 standard with Awd on July 20, 22. It was 46,400, added winter floor mats and rear splash guards for 265 more. They took 1500 off the sticker plus a good trade on my 2015 Infiniti Q50. It has everything I need on it.

For many people, the base v6 just wont cut it. The ventilated seats, brembos, LSD, better suspension, HUD, Lexicon and many other things make the prestige still a great value compared to the competitors.

For the record the engines to which you refer are i-4 or inline 4, not V4. V4 engines are quite rare almost to the point of being nonexistent. Another data point: BMW has never made a V6...all of their six cylinder engines are inline 6. To me a big selling point for BMW is their excellent i6 engines. Unfortunately nowadays you have to spend big money to get one of them as they're big on the turbo four cylinders.

We're all glad you're happy with your purchase but like csu87 mentioned people do have good reasons for selecting other packages. LSD was very easy to get in years past but Genesis has for the latest models forced buyers to select higher trims to include one which is a shame.

Its great that you found what worked best for you. Personally having one of the first launch editions in matte grey has been worth every penny. I added wheel protection and there were some fees, etc but the list was 57.5k. I dont think there is anything on the road that compares sub 60k. Many BMWs look outdated, Benzs are everywhere and so overpriced rn. I'd consider an Audi but you cannot compare the look to the A4/S4. NOBODY believes this is factory paint and it must be a wrap. For me the rims, brakes, red int, etc all make this more than worth it - to each their own.

It all comes down to what you want. About half of the 3.3s come in standard. I have no interest in updated radios or sunroofs. I can live without out ventilated.seats. while it would be nice to have lSD, since I have AWD I don't think it matters much. As far as handling, I've had 2 Trans And and 3 Mustang GTs, and it handles better than any of them. I would get the better exhaust and LSD if they were stand alone options. Since I'm not going to the track, I think I'm ok without Brembos.

The 2019 had ventilated seats included on the 3.3 advanced trim including brembos, lsd, lexicon. The base V6 was where it was at to the get the most motor (and least weight) compared to all other trims. Sucks they started cutting features out of it, when I had mine I felt like it was a steal for what I got!

3.3 AWD standard. As most of you know, I have the standard version in AWD in Himalayan Gray and love it. I'd like to see Genesis offer a Type S with a Cold air, or ram air intake and a free flowing exhaust, headers perhaps. They could rate it at 400 horsepower, and make LSD and Brembos standard. To me, that would be a true sport package, not updated radios, sunroofs and black wheels. That I would pay extra for.

My 2021 3.3T standard is very nicely equipped, and I was able to get it new earlier this year for $41,XXX (sticker was $48,XXX). For Model Year 2021, they equipped the "standard" 3.3T with the former "Elite" package and all the options from the 2.0T "Manual" package. That means it includes all of the following -

  • 19-inch wheels
  • Summer performance tires
  • Brembo brakes
  • Limited-slip differential
  • Power-adjustable steering wheel
  • Driver's seat memory settings
  • Heated and ventilated front seats with additional adjustments
  • 15-speaker Lexicon audio system
  • Elite package
  • Sport suspension
  • Automatic wipers
  • Sunroof
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Leather upholstery
  • Wireless charging pad
It was by far the best value as far as I was concerned, as they "depackaged" the 22's - plus wasn't a fan at all of the 2022 cosmetic changes.

For 10k difference for many it’s fine either way. Both cars are nice. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Many of the things youre discussing are in the top trim prestige.
The top trim is the $51,445 Sport Prestige. To the Sport Advanced, it adds Nappa leather, a synthetic suede headliner, and a surround-view monitor. Performance upgrades include Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential, and an electronically controlled suspension.

Nice car. Only Genesis puts the dune and black in standard it should be a launch alternative. For someone who wants a less sporty more refined look. I’ve had 4 BMW they don’t add alternates like that until 70k. Really hope they keep it up loving the car after the first week.

Thank you sir. I keep forgetting I have a 2022 so there was no discounting esp after the tightening of the supply chain the last few months. Totally agree with the black/dune, esp if the LE was offered in a matte black would be cool, maybe even with a white or red or something special. I think now that Genesis has their brand identity clear and everyone is going to electric, these will maintain their value very well.

Has anyone ever tested the regular brakes against the Brembos. Does AWD really need the LSD? That could be the reason Genesis made it optional.

Ok maybe this will help frame the thread. Why is Genesis offering two premium colors dune and burgundy only for G70 V6 3.3t standard not advanced or prestige? (See images same Uyani white exterior) And also even then dune and burgundy are rare on the std cars.

Maybe someone can explain why they only have a bland grey and a black with red seatbelts as choices on cars with premium packages. The also have straight black but it’s not common.
