  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone,

I am a new G70 owner and am wondering what the best settings would be for bass/midrange/treble.

Are there any settings you would suggest I ignore? Would you suggest I use Clari-Fi and the Quantum Logic Surround settings?

I am looking for high quality sound, but I don't want to damage my speakers. The last car I owned was a Ford Focus and I swear I blew that things speakers out at least 3 seperate times.

Thanks for any advice.

What’s your input device, what type of music do you listen to?
I’m also curious what other people use.
Once I start my car again I’ll grab mine and post here

I just plug my phone in, I use android auto. I listen to a range of music. Sometimes I'm listening to trap/rap music (Future, SchoolboyQ, Offset) other times I'm listening to classical/opera (Трио Маренич, Choir & Orchestra of the Red Army, etc).

Within android auto what app do you use and if it’s like Spotify are you paying for the hi quality version or free. That’s important too for an even comparison

I use Spotify, I pay for premium.

My settings

Bass 7
Midrange - 8
Treble - 6
Center focus off
Clari-Fi off
Audience mode for quantum
Source - apple music over lightning cable

I turned quantum and clari-fi both off.

Bass: 6
Mid: 1
Treble: 2

For music I mostly listen to metal, some indie rock, and occasionally whatever is playing on the classical radio station.

Source is Bluetooth audio on my Android phone. I've updated the Bluetooth settings (found under developer settings) for higher quality BT playback, made a big difference.

So is Clari-fi a gimmick? I tried it during my test drive and thought I heard a noticeable difference with bluetooth audio... Turning on Quantum helped, too. I thought the stereo was pretty average before I fiddled with the features (not to mention that someone turned the bass all the way to the max... I can't stand when people do that) but maybe I'm just a sucker for highly-processed sound

Clari-Fi for me is boosting the higher frequencies a little too much -- Making it feel more clear as per untrained ears. Clari-Fi for me is a gimmick - You can hear a lot of the highs really high with clari-fi on.

Quantum sound is more of a sound processing for distribution amongst the 15 speakers. I change it once in a while - feels nice to show off sometimes. if it is turned off - all speakers get basic stereo seperation.

What changes did you make to your BT settings?

Since I bought the car Ive listed to spotify free and the radio (indie, rock, rap). Ive had my settings at:
+3 Bass
+2 Mid
+2 Treb

Clari Fi On (seems to help boost lower quality, without it everything felt kind of flat)
Everything else off

Just yesterday I signed up for Spotify premium trial and I can already tell the higher quality necessitates some changes. Im going to start with @Toddasaurus settings listed above, see if that gets me a fuller sound
