  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bicycle Rack Possibilities for G70?

Registered just to follow this discussion. Bought my G70 without even considering that there wouldn't be good options for hauling a bike. Picked up a used Saris trunk rack but am terrified to even put it on my vehicle after having a bad experience with that style rack in the past. Would love a good tow hitch or roof rack solution.

With regards to the accessory frame for the G70..
I had the hitch installed on my 2020 G70 on May 29th and had it removed on November 16th. I thought it was unsafe as the hitch, even without my bike rack, frequently bottomed out. I felt it might have been particularly dangerous when bottoming out with the vehicle in reverse. Genesis Canada were unable to resolve the problem; so I had it removed.
I am now back to searching for an alternative.

Have had the same issue, mine's ground down a bit now. :\

I am *very very* careful about going over speed bumps now, but every so often there's someplace where I swear the driveway is just the sidewalk shaved down a bit.

It blows my mind that I was able to get a hitch with zero clearance issues for my Mazda Miata but can't find anything for the G70. Absolutely loved my Miata but needed something more practical. The G70 seemed like that perfect balance of fun, affordable and practical. Guess it's not as practical as I thought. :| Missing my Miata these days!

If you keep to smooth, paved surfaces, the less-than-5 inch clearance is not really an issue. Go over a few bumps and get the vehicle dipping and you have a problem. I bottomed several times on a railway crossing and it is scary. I thought it was unsafe and my local dealer agreed. The dealer took it up with Genesis and the hitch was removed with a complete refund.

The miata is a touch .. lighter, and higher off the ground, no?

Other than the first time, and the last time at that weird curb, I haven't had an issue since, but I don't drive over train tracks usually.

The G70 and Stinger share the same platform, I wonder if a Stinger hitch would work. Has anyone looked at the chassis or has some pictures? There's a video for the hitch install on the Stinger that could be used to see if that would be feasible.

I ended up going with the Yakima roof rack. Hit up rackattack.com and put in Genesis G70 for all the right pieces.

Yes, it's pricey but still less than the hitch/bike rack solution from Genesis.

Been following for months now
lives in TX, USA, and I called numerous dealers, U-Haul Curt, and custom fabricators.
Still no hitch,
Any update on it? Can we order from the Canadian site to the USA?

So managed to contact few dealers in Canada, found one that is willing to ship to USA
the original part number for the hitch is G9H03AP000 and it's CAD $570

Now shipping to the USA is the problem, to ship to texas it $230

Anyone has a big FedEx/UPS account we might get better pricing?

This is amazing! I did do some research on this yesterday and wasn’t able to find it online. I wish I had an account to make it cheaper, sorry.

Found the website below and it is quoting $79 for shipping and it gives a discount on the part. Not sure if the shipping estimation is based on my IP location...

ToniRuga, I already talked to them, they can't get the part. in 2020 Hyundai and Genesis catalog parts got separated, and the Hyundai dealers can't access the Genesis parts any more

So silly question, since nobody has said and online shows no better details, is the accessory hitch 1-1/4” receiver? I would assume so, but my GXM can’t find it.. hoped somebody here has one and knows.

For some strange reason, Genesis USA don't want to bring the part to the USA, I would love to get one from Canda and maybe share cost with someone

My guess is that Genesis USA are not comfortable with the safety issue.

So since this WAS an issue and has been addressed with dealerships, any chance they may have changed it recently?

Quite literally ordering/booking this today, but if it’s that risky of a clearance issue I might bite the bullet and go with a roof rack

In the meantime, good news :) . Yakima just released a roof rack and since i didn’t wanna wait for ever...i forked out some money and got it for my car. It’s awesome and very solid. They rate it to 160lbs. It’s listed on the Yakima website and essentially you need the Bc137 & Bc163 to fit our cars.

Finally i can take the bikes with me :)
Check it out!
Very interested in getting that exact setup. What is the model number for the Yakima rack?

RE-read the post you just quoted. All the info is there.
Almost all the info.. but let’s be honest, the Yakima website lets you pick your car model and tells you everything you need. No tricks, they make it easy. Nobody is keeping this a secret lol

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
So some update that I got from a local genesis dealer here in Autin TX

I call every few months s to see if they can get the OEM hitch, On my last call had a chance to talk to the service manager and asked for few days to check in on this.

he told me that Genesis is checking on the possibility of selling the OEM part and that it "should" be available by year-end.
Let cross our fingers
