Yes the car modem is now working again! Just got back from my dealer. TSB 23-BE-012G Software Update for Dis 2.0 Head Units has been released and is now available. It’s on a USB stick that the dealer has and can install. Not downloadable. Took about 15 minutes. I already had a new head unit installed a few months ago but that did not fix the problem. This TSB restored all services except Google search on the mirror (is that working for any G90?)

Too 8 months but they said it would work and it does. For all those who said the hardware is broken and only 3G, that is incorrect. This is proof.

So all you have a 2017-2019 G90 and you are paying for connected services, it’s all back working again. Many thanks to @csmaslin for encouraging me to keep on top of this.

Just picked up my car from Genesis of Round Rock - Texas, head unit replacement has enabled full functionality including Google POI search from the mirror button. Phone and desktop apps working as they should - I tested every function on both. Sirius works as it should also, had to do nothing. Now to find out how long the free extension is going to be for all my pain and suffering. Thanks

I am curious if your manual entry Google search is working? Home-Navigation-Places with Google-manual entry-enter. Should see LTE activity just like when pressing mirror button.

My original head unit was replaced but that did not fix it. It did nothing As far as I could tell.
 
I went to the Round Rock, TX dealership and the service advisor loaded the software on the spot and it fixed everything. It only took about 10 minutes for the system to reboot. I now have full functions for all of the connected services, including the google search function from the rear view mirror. I have the original head unit that came with my 2018 G90 premium RWD. Thanks Mcc for letting us all know about this TSB.

What I don't understand is why Genesis customer service is not notifying those of us who have a case number open concerning this very issue.
 
For you guys that had it done, did it change any of the software numbers or versions under settings? I'm dropping mine off Wednesday to get it done and want to cross check if they end up doing the correct update.

I will have to check. I think I still have a screen shout of my settings from the last update.

I don’t think my software version or any numbers on the screen changed at all. It just worked again like it had been working a year ago.

So how long did it take for you guys that had it done at the dealer? I went in today to my local dealer and they told me to drop it off in 2 days because it may take up to 5 hours???? Based on their Wi-Fi connection?? Isint the update on the usb stick what does it have to do with the internet. I think they misunderstood me for getting the Navi update done, I know those take for ever.

Should take about 20 minutes. The TSB is on the stick. Genesis will send them the stick. Don’t have them do a nav update. Make sure they have the TSB on the stick BEFORE you bring in your car.

Yes they should. Parts needs to get the TSB stick in stock first.
 
Well no luck for me. The dealer has the USB and they said once they plug it in its showing "No available files" so they cannot perform the TSB. They told me most likely the head unit need to be replaced but im out of warranty so that would be a nice $3200 price tag on that. Also they state that my services are expired even though I'm subscribed till 11/05/2023. What a joke. No remote functions for me I guess.

Just doesn’t seem right. Do you believe they actually have the right stick? Did they show you the TSB instructions?
Did you ask the dealer to explain why it didn’t work? The site said you head unit was unaffected, so it should.
I have the extended warranty so no problem replacing my head unit.

I have All Data so I even printed out the TSB with the part number and it seemed right. According to them the unit is faulty and does not even accept the update, they have tried it multiple times and even showed me the error message. They are trying to contact genesis and see if they can replace the unit for me under goodwill for free but won't know for a couple days and I have no high hopes for that. I might try to make an appointment with a different genesis dealer and see if they can maybe do it, maybe this USB stick is faulty, who knows.

All good ideas! You might see if you can read the stick on a computer. Also I would change dealers if they are going to bat for you with asking for a goodwill replacement. Had you know the unit was defective you would have replaced it under warranty. No way of knowing
