  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

black genesis wings

I like the fact that this is reversible - I might do my grill and, if it doesn't turn out to my satisfaction, undo it.
I was thinking the same thing - for some reason, I think that color sort of matches the r spec wheel black bits! Might look interesting on a platinum or titanium '12 r spec... on the black, it might not work as well, not sure.

But I would love to see how exactly this stuff goes on AND how it comes off.

Grill looks great:cool: Glad to see the chrome gone. I left the chrome when I got my grill painted since paint usually doesn't stick well to chrome. You have a good solution.

thanks for all the interest guys. I will be making a detailed video this weekend for everyone interested :D

Bump! Where's are video you promised!!??:p J/K there is a million on YouTube, but I do really like the wing matte black. Like you, I wouldn't mind a tiny bit more gloss, but not a glossy look in the wing emblem.

how's the bumper holding up with plasti dip? any chips at all?

i wanna gonna go get my window trim painted, but im now considering using plasti dip, i like the fact i can reverse when i want to sell the car.

Nice, im gonna black everything out too, did you plastidip everything? Are you planning to do anything with the headlights? After blackening everything out on the front, the headlights kinda looks out of place. I've seen couple pics of people painting the chrome black in the headlight housing, i wonder if it looks good in person.

So sorry guys, I completely forgot about this thread. The plastidip never faded or cracked. however, I did remove it and I'm in the process of covering the chrome trim pieces/wings with black vinyl. So far I have done my wings and door handles. The vinyl is almost a perfect color math so the black door handles look almost invisible and really bring out the body line and window trim, especially at night (window trim might be the only part i will keep chrome).

To those asking for a video: ughh I completely forgot, I get so tied with other projects. Honestly, I had the whole process laid out and written in detail for the video but I just never got around to it :(. There are a TON of videos on youtube describing the whole process that are quite easy to follow.
