  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Black V6 w/ Premium and Tech 3 days test drive

^ While I wouldn't refer to it as "perfect", the ride in the new Azera would fit the bill.

I actually was their first test driver of a new Azera on a Saturday morning a few weeks ago, after it had hit the dealership the night before. It did drive well, I admit. The interior is awesome. However, since it is new they won't take much off and I would want the tech package which takes it right into the price of the Genesis. That doesn't seem right.

The Eco Mode on the Genesis is just a dummy light. It will come on and tell you when you are driving efficiently. It will not change the driving characteristics of the car on or off. Kind of disappointing being that the Sonata actually is an active ECO mode.

Not the case with the early 2011s. I had one of the first ones built and my Eco light was the exact same as the Genesis...a dummy. They incorporated the ActiveEco about half way into the 2011 year.

The one thing the Sonata does have, is bluetooth streaming. However, it didn't have HD Radio with the nav models, so I guess a trade.

I would agree with that statement. Unfortunately once you get used to the ride in the ES it's hard to go back. Hmmmm what to do.

Soooo...what's the verdict?

Honestly, I think I have decided to buy another Lexus. Nobody flame me, I love the Genesis. The bang for the buck is amazing. But it just doesn't have the same ride. I'm only 45 but I guess I like the softer ride of the Lexus. Havn't bought yet, may still change my mind.

FLAME!!!!

Just kidding... I don't blame you - people like different rides. It happens.

Good luck with your purchase.

Don't forget the ES 350 is new for '13. Please let us know how much you pay for your new Lexus, vs the Genesis.

During my test drive I thought the '12 ES had mucho more rattles than the Genesis. It was a nice cabin, though, and both seats are cooled, if you choose that option.

For a similarly equipped Lexus I'm getting quotes of about 40,900. I should be able to get the tech Genesis for about 2500 less, as everyone knows.:confused:

Frankly, I do just do not put the ES Lexus in the same class as the Genesis. I came out of a Lexus LS 430 into a 4.6 tech and have not looked back.

Yes, Only time at dealer is for oil changes and one issue that had me in an out in an hour. I had a cold start issue and the dealer reflashed the ECU and frankly, the car runs better than it ever did. The LS 430 was my wife's car. The Genesis is her car and she loves it. With the V8, we get 27 on road and 21.6 around town plus a marvelous sound system.

27 on the road that's great for the V8. Thank you for the information.

I have been trading with Jerry's in Weatherford Tx for years. Excellent dealer, sells all makes. Jerry just sold it although he is still involved. I hope it doesn’t change.
