  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Blank Instrument Cluster

Yeah - I'm skeptical but hopeful. I realize generally this sounds like a software issue. However, I'm in another forum with someone who had their cluster replaced 5 weeks ago - and the problem hasn't reoccurred since the replacement. Crossing fingers.
It's possible that the new clusters have an updated or "non-corrupt" firmware that resolves the issue. I believe that was the case with the "update stuck" issue. Replacing the cluster fixed the issue before Genesis realized they could just fix it by updating the firmware. I'm starting to suspect the OTA updates have a bad tendency to corrupt the firmware.

Lately, on random occasions, I start my car and my instrument cluster screen remains blank. Shutting the car off and back on doesn’t rectify the situation. Only waiting (sometime up to two minutes) before the screen finally goes on. Anyone else experience this? Seems to have started after that last OTA update, but don’t know if it’s related or just coincidental. Problem I foresee is because of the random nature of it (I.e. can’t replicate it on demand) dealer may be unable or unwilling to do anything about it unless they can replicate it themselves.
I’m experiencing exactly the same thing. It happens most often when I start up at the beginning of the day after the car has been off al night. And agree, not sure what to do about it. Feels like it’s a software issue (ha, EVERYTHING these days is a software issue) so I’m not confident that the dealer can fix it. And like you, this seems to have started after the OTA a few weeks ago.

Yeah - hopefully this nuclear option does the same. Interestingly, I received a software update this morning. Did you or anyone else get this? I'm not sure how to check what it addresses, but it would be great if this solved it before they take my car apart.

May I ask what other forum, trying to keep up to speed on what forums are out there, thanks!

Hi - I'm tracking this issue with owners in multiple groups on Facebook right now as well. This one is pertaining to a thread in the "Genesis GV60 USA" group.

I have not received any update since the major one (wireless CP/AA). Under Setup/General/SW Info-Update, can you post your versions of:

1. Platform (ccIC?)
2. Updated [date]
3. Software Version
4. Firmware Version
5. Nav App Version
6. Map Version
7. Vehicle System Version

I did get a small update after the last main OTA update, but it did not fix the issue.

I got the update last night also........and had the blank screen again this morning. I am taking car in Friday with issue per instructions from Genesis USA and hopefully they will replace cluster and fix this problem. Has anyone other than 2024 owners had this problem? Starting to wonder if there was a certain periods of builds that received a bad display cluster..........

I have a 2023 (bought in July of 2022) with this problem. However, my display cluster was replaced earlier this year after the first OTC update due to the “stuck update” issue.

After hearing all of these stories I'd be shocked if this turns out to be a hardware issue. At least for me and most others, the problem only ever happens randomly at startup. If it were a hardware issue I can't imagine why that would be the case. Hardware wouldn't "know" when to flake out and you'd expect the problem to occur just as often while driving.

Has anyone experienced this issue BEFORE the airplay update?

Has anyone experienced this issue BEFORE the airplay update?
No. For me, it started happening after the update.

Hmmmm...trying to detect some sort of trend here. As MDB asked...has anyone had this problem before the apple/android carplay installation????

Hi - I just took an 11/21 update. Seems to be more related to the battery - and not this issue. I took snapshots of the details here.

So, my car was in the shop today for some issues including the black screen issue...got a call a moment ago saying there was a fault detected that will indeed require a full cluster replacement and one was ordered. I'm still skeptical that this is hardware issue but certainly cool with them ordering the part for now.

Good Luck🤞 I’m still hoping they will find a software fix for the issue. Would hate to have my cluster replaced a second time.

Thanks, pretty crazy! How long did it take to do the actual replacement, did you have to re-update the software on the new unit and re-personalize your settings?
