  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I go to Blue Link while in the vehicle, via the head unit, and try to download Apps, it says that there's nothing available in the App Store (via the Download Center). I called Blue Link Support via my rear view mirror to ask what the deal was, and he told me that the apps had to be pre-installed by the dealer...WTH? I told him that made no sense, since the car has a cell signal and the ability to connect to Wifi. A couple of minutes later (since I had a lot of questions for him - none of which he was able to answer), I tried to refresh it again, just for fun and it gave me an error saying that the phone was in use and that I would need to hang up before it could check for new Apps. I told him that, and he was like 'oh..ok, i'll have to dig into that a bit more' Anyhow, has anyone been able to download any Apps to their vehicles NAV/head unit via Blue Link?

Also from what I can tell in watching this video ( [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ensmPjSK0S0"]2015 Hyundai Genesis - YouTube[/ame] ) of a non-Ultimate edition 15' Genesis, the options are a lot different with the differing Navigation systems. So it appears that he was able to download some Apps. Curious if anyone with the Ultimate package is able to download Apps or not, since I'm not able to in mine. When I go to the Download Center it just tells me that nothing is available and to go to MyHundai.com....

I have the ultimate. No apps for me.

Same here - no apps yet available for my 3.8 AWD Ultimate. I also don't see any apps in the posted video - the weather and sports stuff is just the included trial of Siruis/XM data.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Check out the spot at the 1 minute and 15 second mark, after the SiriusXM Data part, where it shows the Apps menu and the download manager, he has Aha radio and SoundHound in there. I thought that was under "Media" at first, since I have the option to Bluetooth sync to Aha and Pandora on mine, but he had that under Apps.

For my 2015 Tech I downloaded Sound Hound and aha. I occasionally use Sound Hound.

My problem is that Pandora, which was on the car when I took delivery, does not work. When I start it, it tells me to turn on the app on my phone, whether or not I have turned it on. I don't think that I am missing much, because I can Bluetooth Pandora, or any other music source from my phone. I don't know what the installed app would add.

Guys, the move to phone driven systems in the car (CarPlay, etc.) will make Hyundai authored apps a rare thing. I would not hold out for BluelLink apps and expect that much of the development and options will come from Apple, Google, etc. as the phone makes it way deeper into the cars infotainment system as the main component. Car manufacturers traditionally make lousy app developers an are not in the business of updating and supporting apps - one look at auto U/I over the years is proof enough.

Folks,
I have a 2015 Genesis with the ultimate tech package and checked the "app store" and found an app! it's the alert app for speed/valet/geo-fenc. I suspect it looks like the car component of the associated BlueLink service that you set up from the MyHyundai.com web site. Apparently it was available back in May(?!).

Yes and apparently it's not available for non ultimate models, just the Aha and Soundhound apps.

It was mentioned and discussed here when it came out last last spring. Have downloaded it, but not used it.

I don't think I did anything. I just checked it one day and it was there. I may have hit refresh or update but I think it just showed up. I have been using it for a month or so.

I have an Ultimate and they popped in a few months ago. I set up my car to connect with my home wifi network - do you need to be connected via wifi to get the apps? Could that be your issue?

I believe the car uses Verizon’s 3G network for BlueLink. How are you connecting to your home network? What does that do for you?

You can setup Wifi and connect through the menu in the car. The manual says it allows for faster download speeds for apps. As they have not followed through on apps, it's not a big deal, I guess.

3.8L Ultimate - all services enabled

So I downloaded the Alerts app - and it installed okay, but if I go into the app, and try to navigate to turn on any of the features (valet for example) - it doesn't do anything.
I never had plans to use this app..was more curious if it would install okay.
others able to turn on/turn off these individual services after installing app ?

You have to activate/configure these services thru myhuyndai.com

The one thing I have discovered in the few calls to BlueLink is that they are totally useless. No one knows anything. All they do is repeat your question and look up the answer in some guidebook they have for themselves. There is no expertise there.

It's actually Sprint's network, not Verizon.
