  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have the 2009 sedan. I used to have a Galaxy Vibrant phone. On the Vibrant, I was able to set the phone up in the car and it would work without a problem until I turned the bluetooth off on the phone. I upgraded my phone to the Galaxy S2 about a month ago. I paired the phone without a problem. Now, on occasion for no apparent reason, if I don't make a call for a few minutes (2 or 3), the message will pop up on the Genesis screen saying bluetooth is disconnected. The only way to reconnect the phone is to turn it off and turn it back on. I went to t-mobile today, and the guy there said nobody else had that problem.

Is there a software update that I haven't gotten in the car yet? Has anybody else experienced something like this?

Check all the Bluetooth settings in your phone very carefully.

I had a problem with a Samsung Convoy 2. It would do the same as yours.
As it turned out, I had dropped the phone once and it disconnected the internal antena. I had the phone replaced with a new Convoy and haven't had any problems since.

My Galaxy S2 is doing the EXACT same thing.

There is another thread on this board related to bluetooth problems. I can't find it our I would link you to it because it has some helpful information.

Here is my experience. I had a Motorola Milestone XT 720 (270?) and it would not work with the bluetooth in my 2012 3.8. I learned that only certain phones have been QC'd to work with the system in the Genesis. My Motorola was not one of them. I now have a Samsung Nexus S and it works perfectly (phone and streaming Pandora).

All I can suggest is to google "Hyundai Genesis Bluetooth Compatibility" and go from there.

1.Connections should be made between the host and the cellphone before using the function of hands free in bluetooth. Switch to the bluetooth interface, connections will be made automatically.
2. enter the bluetooth and start the search function,it reads"under match".The cellphone will show the name of device carkit after their connections.Put in the code "0000"
it will show "connect ok"if well matched.
3. You can dail the NO.by cellphone or input the numbers on the screen.
4.Input numbers with the touch screen, you can delete the wrong numbers by clicking "cancel"
5. It will be switched to the bluetooth interface from any modes if calls come. You can answer the calls with the hands free function directly.

hope all of these informations can help u, 4 the further questions, welcome to PM me , happy to answer any question. :)

I have a Samsung Galaxy phone and the Bluetooth connection is constantly dropping out when the phone is not in use. Sometimes it will reconnect automatically while other times I have to connect it manually. REALLY frustrating. It has never dropped out during a call and the phone pairs with the car every time I start up. It did exactly the same thing in my 2009 Genesis, so this is not just an issue with the 2012's.

I have a 2011 4.6 Sedan that I bought two months ago and I have the same problems.

I have tried with two different phones from T-mobile: the Galaxy S2 and the Google G2x and the Bluetooth disconnects over and over.

Sadly enough no help from Genesis support or the dealer. Genesis support claims that none of the T-mobile smart phones will work with the Genesis.

I'm going to the T-mobile store to test out their different phones to see if any of the smart phones will work. I love my Genesis but I'm not as impressed with their lack of willingness to try to help me out. I have had BMW's for many years, and they were more helpful.

My wife and I had the same problems with the Droid 3 from Verizon. Went round and round with Verizon to no avail. The thing is that my wife has a BMW and I have the Genesis. New phones same problem in both cars. I finally gave up chasing Verizon and went to Motorola, no help there either. We both never had issues before with 2 other older phones and the cars have not changed only the phones so if a phone worked before and the new phone doesn't, it is probably not an issue with the car. Eventually through firmware updates to the phone the problems disappeared and they both work fine in either car. Unfortunately the car manufacturer cannot be responsible for changes that the phone manufacturers make to their products, especially when the changes are made well after the build date of the car. This is not a Hyundai issue.

My Galaxy S2 does the exact same thing.

msitter - I had the same issue with my Droid 3. I got my Droid the day it came out...boy was I upset when the bluetooth was disconnecting randomly...and in the middle of a call - it would be lost until you pressed speaker phone...in which you could continue talking.

I called Verizon - after enough complaining - we tried a new Droid 3. Same issue. I was on hold with Motorola for several hours...I got no where. Eventually - a major update came down and my blue tooth issue went away. I like how they didn't want to own up to the problem. At least it works now.
