  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2 week old 2013 Genesis. I'm noticing that when I'm on a phone call, I have problems with full duplex. When the other party is talking, they only hear broken bits of my speech. I should expect full duplex, no? Anyone else experience this? My phone is an iPhone 5, FWIW.

Most speakerphone systems (which is what I would categorize the genesis audio as effectively) will turn off the mic when the other party is talking to prevent feedback. Try speakerphone on your iPhone and see how it works in comparison.

Even though I know better i tested as suggested. Perfect duplex on built-in speakerphone. The reason this jumps out at me is that I've never experienced this before in other factory Bluetooth systems.

No such problems with my iphone 5. Still, try pairing some family/friends' phones of other brands.

My iphone 4s works over my 3 week old Genesis system. That said, I have noticed a problem that seems like half duplex when I use the phone with the AC on. Even down to the lowest setting of AC, it affected the call quality.

It's kind of like being on a conference call when some schmuck in the room puts a slide projector next to the speaker phone, and the fan over rides the duplex ability of the polycom and no one on the phone can hear anything being said in the room.

Not sure if an AC fan has anything to do with what you're experiencing?

I get this too. Jitter and distorted is how the far end hears my voice. I can tell when this goes on with a slight jitter or garble. Or a drop out of the BT.

I have not correlated the AC aspect of it. I can pass on that low fan speeds with AC on I still get this effect. No more difference I have seen with the fan blowing high on the mic in the ceiling.

This system is not nearly as good as my multiple Fords with Sync BT from a noise canceling aspect with sunroof and windows open.

And I am using a iPhone 5.

My point is that Apple has done something odd to the iPhone 5 Bluetooth under ios6 which is causing issues for many people, so I wouldn't rule out the phone being the culprit. That's what is going on in the link I posted.

Its clearly not going to work as expected for any phone if it doesn't work for the best most advanced phone in the world, the iPhone 5!!! /Sarcasm

I understand you point, but don't buy it. People have issues for a variety of reasons, not necessarily their phone.

I just tested in my 13 r spec and had no loss of duplex (Samsung galaxy nexus)

There is a possibility the iPhone ambient sound software is interfering with the call quality. If you want to try a different test....

Sitting stationary in your driveway, or somewhere safe (not your garage), leave the phone OUTSIDE of the car and perform your duplex test.
