  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2009 genesis with tech. great car except the lexicon electronic system. So far the dealer replace the 6 disc changer, and the amp in the trunk, because the voice commands didn't work They told me it was because I didn't renew my XM subscription. Everything wqrked great till I got a new phone. I pair the new phone (Samsung galaxy s5) it was ok for a few days. then it stopped working. now the pairing wont go beyond Pair Phone. When I look at the setup and specs of the unit on screen it doesn't show anything for bluetooth transceiver. I unplugged the complete system ( amp in the trunk and cd changer up front ) to see if this would reset, the only thing it did was give me and XM radio for free. does anybody know where is the bluetooth transceiver on genesis 2009 ? I would really hate to pay in the thousands for a $8.00 transceiver.

The Genesis wont go beyond pairing. I can't connect any phone to it, even my old iphone 4s that use to work fine. That's why I want to know where the Bluetooth module is, is it in the 6 disc changer or in the Amp the truck or is it elsewhere.

Tech package with the DIS knob? My 2009 Tech pairs and works fine with a Samsung Galaxy Light (based on the G4) with Android 4.2.2. It worked fine with a cheapo flip phone as well.

The bluetooth function is part of the head unit on Tech packages (17 speaker setups). Not sure about the other packages. Scanning the factory service manual, I didn't see any mention of a separate bluetooth antenna.

Tech package software is known to be goofy when XM subscriptions expire, including the free trial that came with the car AND when XM's annual free-for-everybody trial expires. Typical issue: voice commands lock up the system or make it extremely slow. Maybe bluetooth is trashed in some cases as well? The temporary fix: disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes or unplugging the big fuse for the entire entertainment system. That's at the driver side end of the dash if I remember correctly. Give that a shot. Big yellow fuse? I've never had to do this myself as I use XM so mine has never expired.

I had the problem with the XM , my dealer fixed it by replacing both units front and back. The unit is now a 2012 lexicon tech package.
I already tried disconnecting the battery both terminals for 24 hours. It didn't do anything, didn't even loose my pre-set on the FM band. I also unplugged the amp in the trunk, and removed the 6 disc changer for an hour. (dam I scratched the wood grain on the center console) I would like to know which unit I send for repair, the 6 disc changer at the front or the amp at the back. My local dealer service dept doesn't even know. I could always change the car for a Lexus. which do you consider the head unit front or trunk?
