  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2009 Genesis Sedan, 3.8 V6, about a year ago it wouldn't connect to my iPhone any longer. I just gave up and chalked it up to old technology vs new OS on the phone. I could talk to it, get it in pairing mode, it would just never pair to my device... Although it had for the past 4 years.

With the new iOS 11 update and safe driving mode auto coming on with bluetooth, I figured hey lets try it again.. I hit the bluetooth button and now I don't even get a response. The thing is just dead. I hold the button, push either or, and get nothing. Could this be a fuse or something?

Thank you!

Michael

I don't really have a good answer, but try this...........see if another phone will pair and at least you will be able to eliminate if its the phone or the unit. Hope this helps

I tried another phone and it didn't pair either, but the odd thing is the system actually turned on. I went through the whole pairing process, set a pin code, and then it just never shows up on any of my devices as a possible bluetooth to connect to. My phone did find my neighbors Tesla so the device isn't the issue, but my Genesis system. Is there any way to hard reset it or anything? I deleted all paired phones and got it as clean as I could.

Well no worries answering me anymore, I sold her and got a truck :)

What did you do to get it to power on? I can’t get mine to power on. Dealer wants me to pay $800 to get a new one put in. I know it’s something g simple to get it to power on.
