  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone figure out a way to decline the message without hearing the reminder each time Bluetooth starts up?

No. Calling the firmware in the head unit "beta" is a kindness to the coders. A friend of mine wanted to play some Pandora, but he did not want to give my car his contacts, so "guest" phones are out of the question. To use a BT headset, you must use your phone. To disable it on a permanent basis requires un-pairing.

I think this was fixed in a firmware upgrade. They should flash it for you. I have also unchecked it in bluetooth settings because i never want to see it again

Can you give more detail on the firmware upgrade? Is this for the AVN 4.5 unit (Base, Signature, Tech) or the DIS Unit (Ultimate)

My dealer is telling me that there is not any firmware update for my AVN 4.5 unit.

If you can set your phone to not share contacts, then you can say yes, and the message will not come back.

On my iPhone, I go to settings>Bluetooth>And the little circle i next to genesis. Then you can turn contacts off. I actually have set up a small group of contacts to sync, and if you have contact groups, there is a place to check and uncheck groups to sync.

My blackberry had a disable contacts function also, but I don't remember the details. I assume that other phone types do also.

Yep. You must do it all (ok nearly all) from your phone. And not surprising, I think we will see our smartphones take over all of this stuff in the future--car manufacturers will cede this to the phone OS providers. I always use the nav on my phone--the Hyundai map is pretty much useless. Car Play and Android Auto are here to stay. I seriously doubt we will get this on the cars we now own as a firmware upgrade, oh well...
