  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a used 2010 Genesis and I'm having an issue trying to get the bluetooth to work. it won't read and devices and the old owners phonebook and call history is still in it. how do i reset this thing?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Does it have a manual?
It's in there if it does.

What trim level?

What kind of phone, which carrier?

Has any custom work been done to the car?
(Even stuff like tinted windows)

Any known electrical issues, even seemingly unrelated ones?

We'll go from there! :-)

bump as I'm having the same problem. Just purchased a used 2010 non tech Genny. bluetooth connect is full at 5 phones. Unable to delete the other phones connected. Can't pair because 5 connected phones is max. Is there a way to reset this?

Buford, do you have any suggestions?

Anyone figure this out, as I have been searching here for the same answer?
Just need to delete the 5 installed phones from the previous owner.

Can you replace an already added phone? See if replace is an option.

Okay.. and the Delete Phone makes you enter a passcode? Try 1234 on all the openings, if possible?

Seems like there would be a way to factory reset the radio unit. I realize I'm not helping much here but I can sure understand the frustration! Can the dealership offer anything?

Sit in the driver seat, look to the left of your steering wheel at the air vent and tweeter speaker location. If you open your door theres a fuse box in there with 2 fuses segregated from the rest, on the AFT side of the panel (far right as seen from observer view). Theyre two fuses that are grouped together via a yellow clip. With the car off, turn pull that fuse bundle (theyll come off together inevitably, you just have to pull on the yellow tab). Turn the car on and verify your head unit does not come on. Turn the car off and plug the fuses back in. Turn the car back on and your headunit will be reset with the time reset to 12:00. Bluetooth devices will still be there but the logic will be reset so the delete command actually takes effect when you press it, and you can pair again as well.

I'll have to try this. Thanks
