  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The contacts transfer every time I get in the car which is really annoying when I get in and out a dozen times a day. There is a setting in my Blackberry to Disable Contacts Transfer which I have done but it still does it every time.
Does anyone know how to turn this off or control when it happens? Or maybe just turn off the announcement "Transfer Complete"?

Thank you.

No answer...but I know what you mean...ANNOYING!!!

Do you have all your contacts transfer? My phone/Bluetooth only transfers about 50% of the contacts which is very annoying.

Mine does this too and I hate it...what a PITA. Would love to know how to stop it.

Change the bluetooth setting of the phone to off. There will not be any transfer attempt if the car cannot detect the phone through bluetooth.

Um...I think turning off the bluetooth altogether would be problematic if you want to actually use the Genny's calling features.

Amazing how different these systems are! I have 2010 4.6 with the tech package, in other words I have the DIS controller with no touchscreen...yesterday the dealer gives me a 2011 3.8 loaner with the touchscreen ....I synced the phone since I no longer carry a Bluetooth headset when I have my car. I was amazed that all my contacts automatically synced across. The supposed higher end tech package requires manual entry, one by one...
By the way I have found by trial and error that the individual phone determines the quality of the Bluetooth connection!

Nope. After a few back-and-forths with the dealer, I had my whole Nav in my 2011 Genesis updated with the latest software discs that they just got. Turns out the latest s/w build gives the option through the settings screen as to whether or not I want to sync my address book.

I simply turn off the sync and wham-bam, no more problems and still have full functionality in terms of bluetooth, nav, etc.

Took some prodding, like root canal in fact, but got it all fixed.

I'd encourage you all to inquire about the same update I got. You'll be happy campers.

Marc
