  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just purchased a 2012 Genesis 3.8L Premium. I was testing all of the features including bluetooth streaming and the iPod cable connection from my iPhone 3Gs. To my surprise, the sound quality over bluetooth was noticeably superior to the cable connection. It could be the cable itself, but has anyone else noticed this?

The ipod cable is passing an analog signal, while the bluetooth is streaming a digital signal. That's why is sounds better. The USB plug is only used for charging and passing song titles to the head unit.

How do you stream via bluetooth ?

I believe only newer models with the tech package can. Do a forum search and you'll find your answer.

Wrong, as the OP stated, he has a V6 Premium Genesis, which is the only model that can do Bluetooth streaming.

According to the 2012 Genesis brochures, all 2012's have bluetooth with streaming as standard equipment.

I cant find a streaming option in my 2012 V-6 with Premium and Tech either...

I haven't been successful with my 2012 R Spec either. Was trying to stream Pandora from a BlackBerry Bold - unfortunately, I have no clue if it's the phone (which wouldn't surprise me) or the interface in the car itself. Will keep trying.

Have you found even an option in the car to select Bluetooth streaming? I haven't been able to.

The tech package cars DO NOT stream Bluetooth audio. Go figure!?

Premium models stream audio. I just press the AUX button and turn on my iPhone. Using an App like TuneIn radio I can listen to stations all over the world, as well as podcasts like Leo Laporte, The Tech Guy. I think the base models can also stream. Anybody streaming with a base model?

That's just great. Much like my Sonata Limited w/Nav that I traded in for the Genesis. Fully loaded but if you upgrade to the Nav package, you lose HD Radio.
