  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bluetooth Streaming

I think those of us who don't have BT steaming might want to check this little guy out when its launched.

Nice. With a basic USB cable you can probably power it from the Genny's port as well.

I'm interested to see if someone is able to make this work in a Genny -- since it will be BT streaming one device when you have a BT connection to the phone with the Genny's hands-free setup.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
It shouldn't be an issue. When I use a line cord for music and bluetooth calls, the streaming automatically stops when calls come through. No matter how you are listening, the phone assumes you want to pause other activities to take the call. This is with my blackberry bold btw.

Already doing it with a similiar device, and have been for a couple of years in other cars.

This is the one I use and it works great.

Wow, for under 20 bucks, why couldn't Hyundai have added it to the Tech package?

So if you use one of these bluetooth to mini plug devices can you still take a call through the stock stereo using the genny's bluetooth? Basically, does it automatically switch on calls?

There are 2 different BT profiles that are being used. Typically, your phone uses HFP for in-car kits, and A2DP for high quality audio. The two can peacefully coexist, and are designed to work in tandem with each other.

for the monoprice BT audio, what do you use as a power source (where do you plug in for power)?
also, can it be in the center compartment, or does it need line of sight?

Use a usb male-male type a on both ends and just plug into the usb port on the center console. I got a cables 2 go model 28105.

Got my Monoprice BT receiver and cables on Saturday. I can hear a faint hiss when there is a lull/silence in the music I'm playing when the volume is high. Not a deal killer for me.

Funny thing is the reviews on Monoprice have quite a few people complaining about the BT receiver not auto-pairing. I can say that is a not an issue for me. Both the receive and the Genesis auto pair and peacefully co-exist. You can receive and makes calls with the Genesis and it swaps back and forth with the receiver perfectly.

In case anyone needs the parts and #s to order here they are. I went with the shortest USB AtoA and 3.5mm t0 3.5mm possible because it's all just going to sit in the bottom of the armrest anyways.

#7364 BlueTooth Music Receiver
#5441 1.5ft USB 2.0 A Male to A Male 28/24AWG Cable (Gold Plated)
#5575 1.5ft Premium 3.5mm Stereo Male to 3.5mm Stereo Male 22AWG Cable (Gold Plated)

Total cost was $25.43 shipped.

Going to be ordering another one of these for my home theater setup for sure. This way I can control my tunes on the back patio through my outdoor speakers right from my phone.

Is your monprice BT adapter still working good ?

Yep, still working perfectly fine. Had a buddy in the car on a long road trip a month back and we swapped back and forth playing stuff from our phones the whole way, both staying paired simultaneously.

I'll probably pick up an Apt-X capable receiver when I upgrade to an S4 or HTC One this summer, but the Monoprice unit will definitely get a new home hooked up to my home theater receiver's 2nd zone so I can play my tunes from my phone on the back patio.

Dumb question. All my Sync Fords support Bluetooth music streaming. One is a 2008 Fusion. Why in the world my new Genesis TAU does not support steaming is nuts. It has the DIS and tech package. I see the adapter option above. Am I wrong about my car or do I have to get this adapter mentioned above?

Saddly DRS you are correct: if you want to stream Bluetooth in the Genesis Sedan Tech version then you need the adapter. Oddly enough the "lesser" Genesis with touch screen has Bluetooth streaming! Go figure.

Thanks for the response. Guess I am heading to buy the adapter. Which I am happy all the info is posted here. I am using my 160gig iPad with the cable the car comes with. That works nice.. But would prefer to use the iPhone 5 via Bluetooth.

This a a great bunch of folks here in the forum. First day here.
