  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bluetooth won't recognize contact list names...

Yes I did. To make sure the tests were consistent between the three phones I deleted all bluetooth pairings and phone books before testing the next phone. Then at the end I re-paired my iPhone 4 and downloaded the contacts. In the end, the same result, (blank) in the contact name and UNKNOWN in the phone number.

Thanks for the tip on where to contact Hyundai, I will send a similar note shortly. Maybe if we nag them enough they'll get this thing fixed.

Well, I'm not sure Hyundai can actually get this fixed. I'd hope they'd apply pressure to their 'partners', but I suspect Harmon and Apple and Bluetooth will have to resolve this. Since it seems to be happening in other cars too, maybe they're all aware of it.
Thx.

I tried to downgrade my iPhone to 4.1 yesterday, but the install failed, so I had to restore from backup. But based on my memory that caller display used to work and on the fact that some people with other cars are reporting the same problem, I strongly suspect that an iOS update killed it. I'll post if I come up with anything new.

Just got off the phone with Equus Customer Service. They were able to replicate the problem but said it was Apple's update(s) that caused this. Suggested I contact Apple, which I will, but I suggested they do the same. I suspect if Hyundai or Harmon called and said "hey you broke our car" it would get more attention than a one-off user.
Only other suggestion was to hope the next IOS update undid whatever the last one did.

I haven't got my 2009 Genesis yet, but have been studying the manuals. My manual says you can't upload the phone list in your iPhone to the Genesis. Was this changed? I see several posts here that talk about syncing the phone list with their mobile phone. Is there now an option to do it? -Sure would be a huge time saver from doing them one character at a time.

I have a wireless Bluetooth keyboard. I have been wondering if there is any chance of using that to enter the Phonebook entries. Anyone?

I had an 09 Genny, prior to getting the Equus, and it would not download the phone book like the 11 Equus does. It is expected behavior.

As far as the bluetooth keyboard goes, I have no idea but I do know the 09 Genny only supports limited bluetooth profiles.
