Hey Guys,

Sorry for the 1000 posts. :-)

I went through all the exhaust posts and at first I got super excited about the Bora exhaust. I then saw Scotts post and heard his car and its pretty impressive.

The Bora as compared to the Magnaflow (this is from listing to both just now) sounds a little more throaty. The magnaflow has a deeper sound.

I'm now torn, split, undecided and after listening to Scotts car I almost want to go with the magnaflow.

I still want to research power. I saw the Bora has an increase of 19HP, does anyone know what the Magnaflow offers?

Could we start a poll? Which would you prefer, maganflow or bora? :-)

Again, my apologies for all the post and questions. I'm just so freaking excited about this car.

Just found this, same part number code someone mentioned in the other thread. Looks like the system is out!

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

Flamingo-

You're what we call a "Post Ho".

Before you buy the car you are only allowed two posts. You make ask the forum "does it rattle" and "will putting a Genesis Badge on the hubcaps affect the warranty"?

After the purchase the car, you are allowed two more questions until you reach 500 miles. You may ask "how do I fill the holes in my front bumper" and "why didn't my dealer offer me a 100,000 mile warranty".

Until you reach 2,000 miles you are only allowed only three questions. They are "why does it pull to the right?", "should the tire pressure be 31 lbs or 31.5 lbs?, and "what size snow tires will the baby take"?

Flamingo I believe you only have 52 miles on your car so you are allowed only half a question. Please use it wisely--

Funny! :-)

Fine...I'll pump my breaks.

Laterz!

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

Where did you see (the dyno chart?) of the one making 19 more HP?

JDC, http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=4818&page=4.

This is where I got that info. (in bold below) Maybe I read the data wrong?

"Today on our dynamometer I ran the stock system and our exciting new True-Dual Cat-Back w/X-Pipe.
Here is the plot: (+19WHP/+22TQ over stock)

In addition to the Cat-Back, I ran a back-to-back dyno of our Rear Section (less aggressive sound, less performance).
Here is a plot comparing all three: (+6WHP/+4TQ over stock)

I wanted to share the performance benefits of our True-Dual Cat-Back w/X-Pipe over our rear section. We are in discussion about offering both products and we'd like to hear any comments or feedback. Cost is always an issue for our customers. I believe most customers would prefer our True-Dual Cat-Back w/X-Pipe for best performance and (a really awesome) sound. Thanks again for your interest!"

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

Thank you kind sir! You are a scholar and a gentleman!

Have a great weekend!

EDIT: Guys, I'm still doing research on a few things Magnaflow BUT I did find a pretty good deal on the system online.

http://www.planetmagnaflow.com/shop/magnaflow-16497-1083.html

Its $729.34 with free ground shipping. Reg price is $946.83.

Thought I would share....

I think I will have a flip of a coin when deciding what system I'm going to use...

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

As a word of caution make sure you go with a "full system". Unless you are 21 years or younger a full system will save your hearing.

By the way, it cost me $350 to tell you this-- Just send a check in the mail.

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

hahahahahahahahahaahahaha!

Thanks for the advice. Kind of exxxxxxpensive! Is there a coupon anywhere to save me a few bucs on that bill? Maybe monthly installments?

Aight Mr. Funny Guy...take it easy. Life is good when you drive a Genesis!

And the award for saving us the most money goes to.......SCOTT! :p

The code is bestoffer4 . If that doesn't work, just put in a bid at like 550 and they will return an e-mail with the code you need to use. Very cool!

AWESOME STUFF!

Yeah, basically they won't show their price for ANY of the many products they sell, as they claim due to having the lowest price on the internet. As far as I can find, they do have the lowest prices.

The "bid" email is just autogenerated to your response no matter if you bid $1 or $10,000, the response email will be their lowest price.

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

Not trying to hijack the thread but better performance through ECU tuning would get simular results. Retuning the engine and modifying the ESC would provide a much better power curve. The posted dyno run has a power curve drop at 70mph then again at 110mph. A 90hp drop at 70mph during the shift  I am one that wants less ESC kicking in and stopping me when I want to go. Borla and magnaflow make fine exhaust systems but explain how an extra 20hp helps me when the ECU is taking it away when I want it most.

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

Why would you do a dynorun with the gear in automatic? If you want to utilize all the power you have in this car you will be hand shifting--

Has anyone run a quarter mile comparing the two? You could also do a 0-80 mph on a deserted highway with stopwatch, the speedo or GPS-- If done safely.

Nice one. I think it is affordable. :welcome: I will use it when I could bought that kind of Magnaflow.

Yes you can surely start your poll. I have an offer of magnaflow. But do you think it is effective to use? Or just put the Flowmaster to increase your horse power?

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

Sure am glad I hit this thread. Been considering a HP exhaust system for couple weeks now. Found some good info here, thx guys for your post. I'm looking at the Magnaflow for $532.65 from performancepeddler.com. Got to make sure the warranty will not be affected. Then get a price for the installation. PepBoys are a dealer and installer for the Magnaflow exhaust systems. All goes well I'll get an increase in performance and a sweet sounding ride.

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

@tiresmokindad: I've been doing some research and can't find any dyno info on the magnaflow yet. Another poster on this thread mentioned that there is a drop in HP? But it sounds like its because the cars computer will hold back?

There is a Borla thread that shows there is an actual increase of about 19HP.

Long story short, I'm confused. :-)

As for flowmasters etc...go with either Borla or Magnaflow. I think, personally, flowmasters are more of a muscle car exhaust system.

Can anyone help elaborate on that thread about the drop in power?

Re: Bora vs Magnaflow

Thanks for posting that!

I ordered mine, comes on the 26th or ships. The cost for install according to Pat at World Wide Mufflers will be $120 bucks! I mention Pat because he was awesome on the phone and explained things really well. Even told me to buy online because I will get better price. :-)
