  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ive been workin with the dealer to get a 4.6 black/black, they had one on the lot and it drove off as i pulled in!! I was yelling "Thats my car!!!". Anyways the only black/black 4.6 with tech for sale in either florida or georgia is a demo car with 4500 miles. I decided to just buy it since there was nothing else. Was that a bad move?

The value of anything is what someone is willing to pay for it. If what you wanted was the only one in Florida/Georgia, then what you paid for it was well worth it.

Wow! That would have been tough for me to buy a "new" car that already has 4500 miles on it. I may have had to wait a little while. Another Black on Black with considerably less mileage, had to show up somewhere. Hopefully you got a sweet deal!

39,100. We were at the dealer for 3 hours while they tried to locate another vehicle. I mean there is literaly no other black on black available in this market it seemed like it was my only option.

thats a great deal for a demo and hey i sell these things and dont believe anyone should pay sticker for a demo regardless of how bad they want it. hell, it would be nice but i dont think so.

Priority, I paid 39,100 for mine back in late November with 50 miles on it. I don't think this is such a great deal. In fact, this dealer in St. Louis is offering 3 new ones for 39,100:

Btw, the only reason mine had 50 miles on it was because the dealer picked it up from storage instead of me waiting for the truck.

Yeah I was going to say that is a little high for what is essentially a used vehicle. But hey it's done, no use crying over spilled milk eh? Time to enjoy.

It seems a little on the high side to me. I am aware of V8's with Tech going new for less than that. I guess it all depnds on the market you are in. There is a dealer near me that has only sold 10 Genesis since they arrived last summer.

It really depends on the pricing.

For the motor (engine), often, the demo vehicle yields better gas mileage plus performance down to the road becaz the engine get pushed hard from the beginning.

Great deal for a demo? You must be kidding! There have been plenty of folks, some members of this forum, who have paid close to that or less for cars with considerably less than 4500 miles on them. Although technically, you could qualify all new cars as demos unless they have >10 miles on them!;)

The car was used by the owner of the dealership i guess as well as test drives. The price was 39,100 for a 0 mile v8 we were goin to buy and then that car got sold, so they were forced to locate this one with 4500, pushing 4800 now because it had to be picked up from jacksonville ( to fort myers). They wouldnt give me an additional discount for the demo, he made up so bs reason.

Njrupcich . . . . just want to say before I go further, that I am not trying to rag on you. But, you must have really wanted that car. I would have walked so fast. Hopefully they gave you something. Free oil changes and/or car washes for life, or something! And they drove the car from Ft. Myers to J'ville? They didn't even put it on a flatbed or a trailer to save the 300 or so miles? Hope you can at least go to another dealership for service! Anyhow, enjoy your ride! ;)

Lol, relax its still a new car 4500 miles aint jack, just consider yourselves lucky you got a gd deal on one without the miles, yall act like 4500 is 45000..geez!!! Not that serious. 4500 miles Aint worth 5-6k off, you cant find any transportation job that pays you a $1 a mile, chill out.

if you knew any better, dealers dont like flatbedding or trailering..the cost to do that is alot steeper than you think, alot.

New in the sense that it hasn't been titled. With 4800 miles, let's just call this one broken in!

Correct, I don't know any better. Just thought maybe the dealer would have extended some sort of generosity since the first car he had a deal on was sold and he still stuck with them.

By the way, I bet the owners of Priority appreciate the way you come across to potential customers on this forum! ;)

i don't care either way, but next time you buy your own personal car, let me know, so when you are done with the purchasing process, then i'll take the car over from you, will drive it for 4,500 miles and then i'll even throw in a car wash prior to turning it over to you. i am sure you won't mind since what the heck, it is ONLY 4,500 miles, it's not like 45,000 miles!!!

(i am sorry, i just couldn't pass it up. :))

Which dealer was this?

And 4500 miles is 4500 miles worth of warranty and wear which is worth a pretty substantial amount, plus your car shouldn't have been able to be represented as new.
